Dr. Bashir is a creep. His sexual interest in women seems to generate when it is least needed - when she is in need of medical attention.
This whole post is SPOT ON. I thought exactly this too
Dr. Bashir is a creep. His sexual interest in women seems to generate when it is least needed - when she is in need of medical attention.
In one of the instance, either Sarina or the girl in the wheelchair, Bashir says that he has turned treatment over to Dr. So and So
Because they were now dating.
It's not unreasonable. If you were receiving medical treatment but then you and the Dr. Decided that you would like to date, not really a big deal.
Okay, I guess if you put it that way.Yeah, he put his own desires ahead of her needs as a patient. Fobbing her off to another doctor so he can get with her sounds like it should be a big deal
Yeah, that was Sarina. Even though he wasn't her Doctor it was still ridiculously creepy. She's lived her entire life in a near-catatinic state, after the operation she can't even speak properly because she've never even done that before, and yet he thinks she's ready for a full on relationship? In one of the instance, either Sarina or the girl in the wheelchair, Bashir says that he has turned treatment over to Dr. So and So
Because they were now dating.
Wait, what?Leeta. . . . Glad she shacks up with Nog at the end.
Yep, in Afterimage. Pretty much the first thing she says to Bashir when they first meet.Didn't Ezri say to Julian at some point that if Worf had not come along she(as Jadzia) would have fallen for him?
It did seem a bit out of the blue, but I always took it as Ezri's nervous babbling things she shouldn't rather than an easy rejection.Did you or anyone else believe that or was it Ezri basically soft pedaling her rejecting Julian-"I totally would have fallen for your charms if Worf hadn't swept me off my feet when he came to the station."
Because I don't recall any hint ever that Jadzia was considering or was becoming more partial to acquiescing to him.
How is that crossing a line? They're not allowed to "tell secrets" of previous hosts now?I'll admit that Ezri herself crosses the line in terms of her previous hosts feelings/relationships
IN what way? By waiting until Ezri was stable in her new life before even trying for a relationship? Or by waiting until it was absolutely clear that she and Worf were not going to pursue a new relationship?but it's almost as if Julian exploits this.
Their relationship became almost exclusively friendship after season one. That's not to say he wouldn't have still been interested, but Bashir did not keep trying to win her over in that fashion. We spent six years seeing Bashir pine for Jadzia
This crossing the line was mostly referring to her and Worf shacking up when they've been kidnapped by the Breen (reassociation is banned and punishable by exile), but in terms of crossing the line socially by introducing yourself to a new/old friend who is still mourning your previous host and having a weird time adjusting to you being here. How is that crossing a line? They're not allowed to "tell secrets" of previous hosts now?
It's not a question of him waiting, it's a question of whether he was attracted to the real Ezri, or the part of Jadzia that lived on in Ezri.IN what way? By waiting until Ezri was stable in her new life before even trying for a relationship? Or by waiting until it was absolutely clear that she and Worf were not going to pursue a new relationship?
OK, "pine for" might have been a strong way of putting it, but his interest was always still there, whether he acted on it and tried to win her over or not.Their relationship became almost exclusively friendship after season one. That's not to say he wouldn't have still been interested, but Bashir did not keep trying to win her over in that fashion.
Only he could tell us that. But based on the fact that it was nearly a year before he realized that he loved Ezri (and earlier very specifically telling Quark that Ezri was not Jadzia), I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. Early on he does try to find out if he feels that way about the Jadzia part of Ezri, only to have the "It would have been you" admission dumped in his lap, and it seems to bring him back to reality. The scene ends (and Bashir mentions this later) with them as friends. They stay that way for the majority of season seven. It's not a question of him waiting, it's a question of whether he was attracted to the real Ezri, or the part of Jadzia that lived on in Ezri.
