Don't even try to ruin my good mood!

Being myself is awesome enough.

Same here.

From California.

The ACTUAL center of the universe.
Otherwise known as simply “The Coast.”

I do sometimes wonder if California is the Center of the Universe. Hear me out before you call me smug:

-We're the Home of Pixar, one of the best movie studios running

-We're the home of Silicon Valley, which pretty much runs the technological area in the Country

-Have have the 5th largest economy in the world as a state

-We're home to Hollywood

-Google is located here, probably the highest search engine on the Internet

-Keeping the trek theme, we will be the future home of Starfleet, if something like that ever comes to pass. ;)

-We're also home to Apple, which is controlling the Phone, Internet Book, and MP3 Markets currently

-We're also home to EA, which owns Madden, which is one of the top selling video games every year.

So yeah, so much comes out of California. What comes out of New York? Wall Street, the Statue of Liberty, Plays, and high profile sports teams. I can't really think of anything else really.

I could have said Disney, but Florida's Disney is bigger, not to mention the one in Japan and Paris. Agreed about the Ports though.

The other day I was walking through a graveyard, and came upon many gravestones of 2-year olds and young people who all died in 1920, I think in the flu epidemic, including one homemade stone which had broken in half, and the name is nearly obliterated from weathering.

It's possible I may have misread the thread title.

California is the most productive state in terms of agriculture, too. They also produce the most cheese (sorry, Wisconsin) and also marijuana. New York is where you go to get ripped off on both of those things.

At the same time, I love New York and it is a different experience because there is no true "big city" on the West Coast. LA is pathetic and is not a true big city, and nothing else along that shore really compares with New York.

All of that is secondary (except for maybe the Star Trek stuff) to the fact that California has me.

For that alone, it'll always be the center of the universe. And the greatest place on Earth.

:bolian:

Dude, relax. Everyone thinks their city is the best.

^ Aye... I think NYC is the best, because it is literally the epitome of what America is... NYC is a melting pot in the truest sense... in NYC you can find literally every culture and type of person on Earth, all in one city. Its diversity is unmatched.

I am relaxed, thanks. The the original poster said, I'm in a very good mood. :)

Wow, people are ridiculous about their cities. I think it's standard to call any major city "the city" when you live nearby. It's like saying "I'm going into town" or something, completely generic.

I'm in a good mood today because I received an unexpected Skype call from the German exchange student I dated 2 years ago. I had forgotten how damned sexy that accent is...:)

Yeah, but ours was FIRST! The concept of the “theme park,” as opposed to the traditional amusement park, got its start here.

And I'm still sitting at my computer naked.

I'm in an awesome room because I totally pampered myself at the spa today. Facial + massage, then sauna and rain shower. Wish it wasn't so expensive!
