Honestly I’m considering building the exterior model of the Enterprise refit next, which I feel is essential if I want to do docking ports, shuttlebay, lounges, rec deck and other areas on the ship with viewports. It’ll be good to get an exterior model out of the way early on in the course of this project.Yeah, I was looking at those beautiful renders and thinking a variation with the comms station directly behind the captain would be cool to see, with science in the TWOK position and engineering where Uhura's station normally is.
But take your time Donny.
What's next? Fleshing out the rest of deck one with the docking port? Or something totally different?
Eager? I bet yes. Able? I'm betting very much no.But we never will, since nobody's eager to recreate that period of Trek history for fan films![]()
You could always do the Star Trek [Phase] II bridge as before it got TMPed, complete with the weapons hemisphere, backless seats and plush captain's loveseat.Honestly I’m considering building the exterior model of the Enterprise refit next, which I feel is essential if I want to do docking ports, shuttlebay, lounges, rec deck and other areas on the ship with viewports. And plus it’ll be fun working on a game ready model of the most graceful starship in sci-fi history.![]()
That's how it looked in concept art. It looks like the Phase II bridge as built had a metal folding chair for the helmsman and a wooden dining chair at navigation. You could always do the Star Trek [Phase] II bridge as before it got TMPed, complete with the weapons hemisphere, backless seats and plush captain's loveseat.![]()
I want to eventually! I was actually going over the list of changes I'd have to make in my head last night as I futilely attempted to sleep. You could always do the Star Trek [Phase] II bridge as before it got TMPed, complete with the weapons hemisphere, backless seats and plush captain's loveseat.![]()
Ahh if I could get my hands on that seven-page listing...or just the whole kit and caboodle of footage.
BTW, that's Robert Abel standing in front of the helm. That's how it looked in concept art. It looks like the Phase II bridge as built had a metal folding chair for the helmsman and a wooden dining chair at navigation.

Yup! It should be noted that there is a raised circular disc in that spot in TWOK that was not there in TMP, best visible during explosionsHey Donny, something I've noticed whilst making my own version of the TWOK/SFS bridge is that there's a large circular light in the ceiling between the turbolifts. Have you noticed this before? I think you only see it a few times, really briefly:

I also spotted this while I was going frame by frame. They left the studio set exposed in this shot :P

@137th Gebirg is correct. For the Stargazer/Season One battle bridge, the lighted panel is covered with a cross, or "X"Good catch! I did notice it in scenes on the Stargazer for TNG’s “The Battle” but I always thought that was a TNG addition for either that or the E-D’s battle bridge. This proves it was there at least as far back as TSFS, but definitely not there in TMP. Interesting indeed!
Update: Confirmed it was added in TWOK. Not illuminated in this screen cap, but you can see the definite outline of the disc in the ceiling over the captain’s chair.
I think it's just the unfinished main viewer with a bluescreen outside and some equipment behind the screen casting shadows on it, since it's backlit. Is the woman in red standing in front a three screen viewing area? I see a right one, possibly a middle one, and project a third one for balance left off-camera.
You are forgiven.(Those Reliant graphics at the D&R station are obviously not the modified Connie graphics we see in the film, but are in fact actual Miranda-class graphics. However, they are not "Phase II"-style renditions like I'd originally planned to match the Enterprise damage control station's graphical sytle, basically because I'm tired. I just used readily available Miranda schematics)
