Donny's Refit Enterprise Interiors (Version 2.0)

Ah, here's the pic I have of Mark Stetson and the half-scale viewer.

Looks like the minatue also has a slight difference in the lights above. On the miniature, the lights in the middle section are a single strip. On the actual set in TMP, there were two light strips in the middle section.

@Donny - you probably already saw this — there were also some changes made to the panels just to the left of the viewscreen in TWOK. Apologies if this was brought up already.

You mean these? ;)

Are those.... cassette racks?
Possibly? I'm not sure what those were. I think they might be a little too long to be cassette racks. A quick google search didn't turn up much in the way of cassette racks shaped like that, except for maybe these. Anyway, I'll measure my model when I get home and see if those "racks" are about the same length as a cassette.

EDIT: Here's the closest look we get of those in the films:

Finally, some color to the TMP bridge!

Had a great time modeling the captain's chair and crew chair, as seen in TMP.

In TWOK, the bridge chairs seen on the Enterprise had light teal slip covers placed over the cushions. But for the Reliant, the slip covers were removed to help differentiate between the two bridges. It also appears the captain's chair cushions were dyed brown for its appearance as the Reliant command chair.

Speaking of Reliant, here's a preview of how the Reliant bridge is shaping up, complete with it's blue trim and darker colored walls (obviously, I haven't modeled the Reliant specific consoles which flanked that bridge's single door yet)

I've also started work on the U.S.S. Grissom's bridge as well. Shots of that later ;)

Now, to model the TWOK slip-covers!

TWOK chair slip-covers done! Here's the Enterprise captain's chair, in it's very light teal:

And the Grissom crew chair. I assume these were the same slip covers from the Enterprise, but dyed pink.

Things are coming together! Now to just focus on display screens and console controls for the home stretch.

I love the floors! Nice job!

Grissom?!? I feel there is now officially no detail too small for you to tackle!

And Donny, the Voyage Home's Enterprise's chairs were black or navy blue?
Most definitely navy blue. Kirk's had a silver spine.

I wish there was more available on the TVH bridge, especially when it comes to the graphics on the helm. Having to guess what the missing graphics are is one of the things I'm NOT looking forward to, in fear that I'll have to redo it all if better resources somehow make their way onto the web and I have to redo them ;)

While we're on the subject of the TVH bridge, it has commonly been said that they only redressed the bit of the bridge we see in the film (namely the security and communications staions, and helm), but this photo proves they redressed at least the science and damage control stations as well, complete with their own graphics:

I was just messing around yesterday and wondered how the Grissom bridge would've looked if fully fleshed out, and since I basically have the tools to do so now, I quickly changed the color palette and arranged the few stations we see in the film. I'm going to be taking some licenses with it, since we only see a small sliver, but aim to be faithful to the little bit we see on screen. I'll post better screenshots once I make a couple of additional models to support what I have in mind.

In case anyone is wondering, when filming the Grissom, they basically painted the walls one color, dyed the chair covers pink, removed the railing, and then turned the helm/conn 180 degrees. The actors were actually facing toward the aft end of the bridge set, as you can see a bit of the turbolift alcove next the science station, towards what we are meant to think is the bridge's forward end and viewscreen.

The Saratoga's bridge, seen in TVH, used this same layout, albeit with updated bridge graphics, darker lighting, and what would appear to be yet another repaint.

I've heard, though it's hard to tell from the limited angles, that they also scootched the helm and captain's chair closer to the science station. I've seen that bridge depicted as an oval rather than a circle because of that.

You're right. I just fired up my copy of TVH to take this shot. Obviously, they aren't even in the center of the bridge anymore, as the captain's chair has been moved onto the floor of the damage control module, and the helm lifted up as well. This was all to give the illusion they're on a smaller bridge.

Unfortunately, making an oval or smaller bridge would mean I'd have to make a whole new set of bridge modules at different radii, so if I do depict the Grissom or Saratoga using the pieces I've made, they will unfortunately have to be at the full bridge radius. Unless I decide to take on that laborious task at a later date.
