Donny's Refit Enterprise Interiors (Version 2.0)

It may be the lighting, or the lack of computers taking up all the space, but that one photo of Exclesior's enginerering, somehow makes it feel much bigger than Enterprises!

I dunno, I like it. But there's a lot I like about the NX Excelsior, particularly due to it's rarity. I always imagined the NX bridge also having a very prototypical LCARS setup that was being tested for implementation in future starships. I think if you're willing to concede Kirk's reassignment to 1701-A being more than three months after the original's destruction, 1701-A probably had a 2.0 version of the system installed.

I also like the NX bridge. It has a TOS-flavor to it, almost like a Gold Key version of the original series bridge.

I’m waiting patiently for someone on these boards to tell me that it’s surely the best of times. ;-)

That and hopefully an old nemesis doesn't return today, seeking revenge. :P

What the hell do you want? ...This is not about age ... and you know it. This is about you creating goddamn computer consoles when you wanna be out there hopping galaxies.

Happy birthday Donny!

[EDIT] You know what, screw it! I will be doing some Reliant and Grissom interiors! Redressing the Enterprise sets will be fun and short work!

They all have so much commonality of parts, why not? Y'know that's what the production team would have done if those interior spaces needed to be depicted.

...It looks like they may have erected something behind and to the left of the engineer there to cover up the dilithium chamber (perhaps because that part of the set was partially deconstructed?) ...
Looks to me like they just put the TMP walls back, since the stuff from "radiation room" had to get repurposed back for the BOP bridge.

Happy birthday, Donny!! Thanks for sharing your work with us.

Truly impressive the amount of analysis you've put into these sets and how you choose to recreate them. I hope you're keeping some sort of journal, documenting what you've learned (from blueprints, screenshots, set sketches, etc.) and the educated choices you've made. This will help those who come after you understand what you did and why. Yours are broad shoulders upon which to stand! :techman:
