I have a question for all of you. Does your dog know when you are sad? What does your dog do to make you feel better? I am very sad today. Got some bad news. I don't have a dog at this time. But when I did and days like this happened. My little dog would bring me her toys so I would play with her. I had to wrap up this bone she had in some rags and tie them in knots. And that dog could untie the knots with her teeth. It used to be so fun to watch and it made me laugh. And she knew it made me happy! :)

you could tell your problems to our Rottweiler and he’d sit, look at you, cock his head and listen.

The he’d come and put his head on your lap.

So he knew when people where sad.

Afterwards he’d grab his rope and sit there with a silly look on his face saying play with me.

none of the other dogs have been the empathetic.

I'm sorry you're feeling down. :(

My dogs definitely act differently when I'm depressed or anxious. Fred, the chihuahua, is on my schedule in general. If I'm up late with anxiety, he's pretty restless too. Scrapple lays near me when I'm sad. They spend so much time with us and they're very sensitive to the way we behave. I wish I could loan you one while you're feeling sad!

When my dog died and I kept breaking down for a few days after my other dog who was only about two would come up to me and put her nose under my arm to give me a hug. I will never forget how she comforted me by doing that.

What I miss the most about not having a dog now is being silly in front of them. I used to do silly dances and noises in front of my dogs and they would sit there looking at me as if to say it's them that should be daft not me. The confused look on their faces made it even funnier and it was good stress relief
