Does Voyager get worse with subsequent viewings?

Yeah, it can be annoying, but it's that way with any TV show.

Recently while watching Equinox I found it rather dumb, that the blonde from the Equinox is too scared to travel in the turbolift with Chakotay, but is more than willing to climb down the equally claustrophobic Jeffries tubes for 10 decks (or whatever it is) and not be worried about the deadly aliens who can open rifts in space ANYWHERE on the ship.

However I find ST:Enterprise much more annoying, as it's filled with the "little everyday minutae" to make it look like "we're doing this for the first time" , lots and lots of what I call -- filler. When they get into a story and it moves along and isn't beset with politeness, small talk and "gosh, oh, golly gee whiz" crap, it's much better.

I loved Voyager when it first aired and now that I'm rewatching it (not for the first time) I'm enjoying it just as much :techman:

Well would you want to ride a turbolift with a heavy block of wood?

Kidding! He left an opening large enough to drive the Delta Flyer through and I'm weak sometimes. :D

I've found I enjoy Voyager more rewatching it.

And I wouldn't mind being stuck in a turbo lift with Chakotay.

I've been rewatching Voyager quite a lot lately and I've really been enjoying it.

It will always be my 4th Favourite Star Trek series, but that's a bit like saying Return of the Jedi is my 3rd Favourite Star Wars film.

They are both still great. :techman:

Voyager has good rewatch value. I'm sat here now watching Dark Frontier, and although I'm wincing at some of the continuity (The federation knew about the Borg from that Enterprise episode, but no-one ever said "Borg" and we never saw a cube so how do the Hansens know about them?) I'm quite enjoying it.

Balls to continuity.

:D

I have to say, watching Voyager on Virgin 1 I think that Kathryn Janeway might be my favourite Captain.

She became my favorite, too, after I started watching Voyager again. I only watched a season and a half during it's original run, then sporadically after that. I fell in love with it on dvd, and I think that Janeway is terrific--either the best captain, or tied for best with Kirk.

I have the VOY DVD's, and I still enjoy the heck out of it on Spike, too; it's eminently rewatchable.

I feel the reverse of the original post--VOY gets better and better with age. The great episodes AND episodes you didnt care for the first time get better and better, imo.

The only thing that I don't like with subsequent viewings is that it seemed like the ship was always getting into battles and getting damage every week. I know we've covered the whole "Ship should be destroyed" thing countless times but that isn't the issue. What is is that it seems like this show could get rather repetitive on occasion. It's a minor complaint, but it's noticeable.

I think Voyager does get better with repeat viewing, because once you get over the main problems of the show and start to look at the minutiae, it's gets pretty good. You do notice character development and interaction that you never would have picked the first time through.
