Does Starfleet have transwarp in this universe?

People have brought the Cardassian thing up before.

But looking at the canon map, I always thought it was stupid they had never had any contact with the Cardassians earlier, Bajor was closer to Earth than Klingon/Romulan space.

Chekov says: "If Mr Scott can get us to warp factor 4" when they're on their way to Earth.

It's reasonable to assume that's max warp. Otherwise why bother taking your time to try and stop Earth's destruction.

That's just assuming. Maybe he meant "Warp Factor 4" at the minimum

Could be. It's more likely he was hoping Scotty could push the engines and get them to their maximum: warp 4.

But who knows, as you say there's no concrete evidence either way.

IMO, a better explanation here is that the Enterprise had been, if you will recall, damaged in a firefight with the Narada already. They had warp drive, but it was simply limited as a result of the fight.

I guess Vulcan is about 3 minutes from the Mutara Sector, because that's all the time it took in TSFS for the ship to travel there too.

I guess this means it is possible (at least in this reality) to get to Quo'nos in 4 days! Who-Hoo! further proof ENT is part of Continuity!

No there's actual bridge dialogue where I think it's Spock that says something like "we'll reach Vulcan in 4.6 minutes". This is said before they enter warp.

No he never says anything like this.

yes, he does or at least someone on the bridge says this. I remember because I was shocked in my cinema seat when it was said.

You actually remember little lines like this?

Having checked, in real time, it takes exactly 4 minutes 5 seconds since Chekov's line and their arrival.

Which is more than three minutes. ;)

And doesn't include time used up in things we're not seeing -like lift rides.

You're right, Chekov was lying to the whole crew. Congratulations. It doesn't matter if it was 3 minutes, 5 minutes, or 10 minutes. The point is, it wasn't a lot of time.
