Does Land of the Lost look made of 100% Suck or is it just me?

Another not interested here.

Agreed "Stranger Than Fiction" was a really good movie and so against type for Ferrell.

I liked "Elf" but it does get a bit worn in the over the top spots upon repeated viewings.

I agree with a few other posters that most Will Ferrell movies aren't that funny, but "Stranger Than Fiction" was fantastic. It's also the only Ferrell movie I actually own on DVD. I also enjoyed about 40% of "Talladega Nights". The rest of his movies look god awful. "Land of the Lost" looks like a horrible movie.

Just wondering, because Anchorman is one of the funniest films of all time, and anyone who doesn't think so doesn't know comedy.

It's a scientifically proven fact. Proven by...science. And stuff.
Lucy Ball is now spinning in her grave and Carroll Burnett & Lily Tomlin are hanging their heads in shame.

I personally think Will Serrell has a string of nothing but crappy movies... and this looks no different...

Even though I watched it every Saturday way back when, for some reason I'm not totally enthusiastic about this movie. I promised my kids I would take them to see it so I guess I will find out soon enough if it's as bad as I suspect. :(

Not screened for critics = bad movie.

There are rare exceptions. Usually they are indeed crap -- even Nicolas Cage had a string of movies not screened for critics which included Ghost Rider -- but once in a while there's a Tombstone.

Just read that Brad Silberling was once attached to Juno, but backed away due to "casting differences." Idiot.

Count me out on this one... *Barficon*

Will Ferrell needs to just disappear. The man, seriously, is just not funny. Just IMO, of course.

But... *GAG*

Cheers,

I liked most of the Will Ferrell movies I have seen except "Stranger than Fiction" which felt pretentious to me. I even love a few of them like "Anchorman" and "Zoolander" but this movie does look like crap.

I was a fan of "LAnd of the Lost" as a kid but to be honest I can't recall much about it other than Chalka,The dinasuars and Sheelak's. I also remember the opening credits with them in the cave with a dinasuar wanting to get them. I don't mind them doing a spoof but it has to at least look funny and this doesn't look funny from the previews.

Will is trying to survive in snowy northern Sweden with Bear Brylls right now. Maybe he wont make it. At very least we should be able to see him eat some disgusting stuff.

Oh, there is another Land Of The Lost marathon on Skiffy Thursday.

I think it looks pretty funny. Sleestaks! Anchorman and Talledaga Nights were almost completely devoid of humor for me, though. Just awful.

I don't like the CGI Sleestacks from the commericals with their huge mouths. The Sleestacks should look scary instead of cartoony. The Sleestacks being scary was one aspect of the show I do recall.

Bear's show is so manufactured it should be legaly labled as product.

Bear and Will filmed a "scene" of them deciding on whether or not to eat a dead wombat, were filmed eating some sliced turkey bought at the deli to be "wombat" and then when they were done filming they were flown to nearest Four Seasons where they ate a 5-Star meal and bought porn off their room-TVs.

My only real thoughts when I saw the trailer in the theatre were "fans of the show are probably pissed about this" and "hey this looks kinda cool OMG WILL FERRELL NOOO!"

I'm not anti-Will Ferrell, but it looks terrible. I think it's been proven somewhere that the bigger the budget of a comedy, the worse it gets, and that looked very expensive.

I like Will Ferrell and his most of his movies. Old School and Talledega Nights are my two favorites.

I checked out the Land of the Lost marathon a couple weeks back on the Sci-Fi channel. I used to watch the show quite a bit as a kid but forgot about it. Though it is definitely ripe for the campy approach, the show was a bit more serious than I remembered.

The commercials show that any seriousness has been jettisoned for laughs, which is somewhat a shame. A little humor is fine, but I would like something more respectful of the source material, or that at least kept the family dynamic.

I saw a scene where Ferrell pours a jug of piss all over himself. Yuck. Yeah...that'll pack them into the seats...

This just looks bad, period. None of the creatures in the film look like anything except computer-generated images. The Jurassic Park dinosaurs look far more realistic than these do (although maybe that's the point?).

The only critic who has liked the movie so far out of 9 reviews is Armond White, who makes a habit of liking shit movies and not liking critically acclaimed.
