If I had to base my like of TNG on the first half dozen or ten episodes of that series I'd have abandoned the series by 1988. PIC has too much filler and time killer material to pad out a season-long arc but that's just modern streaming and arc-based television in general. The Walking Dead alternates between interesting and achingly dull with a regularity that's only gotten worse and more noticeable since the show began declining in quality. PIC does get better by the middle and end of Season 1 but be warned: the season finale is agonizingly uneven in quality from beginning to end.

Don't know your taste.

For myself, episodes 1 and 2 were sensational, the next 3 are lesser...to me the biggest problem was that 3,4 were chopped up and the editing is off-putting and makes them appear disjointed. The episodes do get better, 7 of course is a highlight for most people, but 8 may be my favorite of the 10, and the finale was very satisfying to me as a big wrap-up with drama, scale, and production. Don't know if you've seen them so no spoilers. <--
