Does it get better?

I saw the promo picture that looked more like Guardians of the Galaxy then Trek, and checked the hell out. (And this is from someone that has no problem watching other franchises' "kids animation."

Crikey, imagine devoting your time and energy to tearing apart a new TV show that's broadcast on <checks notes> Nickelodeon...
I think when they tear into Prodigy -- fucking Prodigy of all things -- it's going to wake a lot of people up.

But I actually want them to do it. It's going to show everyone the 10-year-olds they really are.

Who's that girl who does it with red hair that does them? I've seen fleeting seconds of a couple of hers, they were funny. She's sitting in a shithole apartment (nothing wrong with that, you should see my place) claiming she has 'sources at CBS telling her Kurtzman has been punching walls' or somesuch. I've nothing particularly against her, she's on the grift and looks like she could use the money, but who actually believes she knows some sort of whistleblower in Hollywood?

Thanks, I'll watch out for that one. I forgot, not only does she have contacts at CBS but at pretty much every movie studio and production house out there. Seems legit.

Yeah, that'll learn 'em not to...like a TV show.

I'm not talking about not liking a show. I'm talking about listening to those, such as Midnight's Edge or Doomcock, who exhibit such horrible behavior when it comes to how they act towards expressing their dislike for a show and the lengths they'll go to try to dismantle a show and slander it. As well as slander the people who make it. It goes way beyond simply criticizing. It's something else.

There's a difference.

And it causes people who might like a show to be turned away from it by the likes of YouTube Channels such as those. People underestimate the power of social media, just like they underestimate the power of Fox News. Or the overall, cumulative power of Mainstream Media in general.

I don't see why it SHOULD get better. I just rewatched the entire season and I enjoyed it even more than when I first saw it when the new episodes came out. In my opinion it's amazing right from the beginning and the episodes 1, 2, 7 and 10 might actually be among the best ST episodes ever made.

I have watched the first 3 episodes and really am not too impressed with the show? Does it improve at all?
I liked the beginning of the show but it quickly devolved Into crap. I dont think Stewart really gets much say Into his character...especially given his previous comments on Picard season 2

Overall I kinda wish they did not do the series. I was Hoping with Stewart involved we would not have gotten the same old Kurtzman crap. Except for a few shining moments thats pretty much what we got. Oh well ....the ending was abysmal. So save yourself the pain...

Imho not just the Queen but also the introduction of assimilation by nanoprobes.

I think the Borg Queen added much presence and charisma to the Borg as whole, in First Contact, but on hindsight added a failure point egotism and campy ham in the faceless, merciless Collective.

I've no idea that most Trek fans thought Borg nano machinery was a soft retcon in First Contact, when they've been implied right from the start, after watching a YT clip of "Q Who?" relatively recently before Christmas and just seen "The Best Of Both Worlds" earlier this evening.

Nano probes are implied, with killed or badly wounded Borg drones dissolving into the deck and a abducted Picard injected by a drone's mech arm.

I think my favorite episode of the series so far was Napenthe, but that is late season 1. If you didn't like the first three episodes, than I don't think it got better.

I never saw a connection between these events and the nanotech of the Borg.

The things the Borg used in "Q, Who?" to access the ship computer system were apparently based on energy as seen by the effects.

And in BOBW it seemed to have been something like a hypospray, used to stun Picard. If it were nanoprobes, he would have already been a Borg afterwards. And there would have been no reason for the talk between him and the collective.

I don't understand some of the negative comments here. I agree that the show's first season wasn't perfect, but overall I enjoyed Picard very much and look forward to season two...How bad can a Star Trek project with Patrick Picard be?

Apparently he's a much better actor than producer...
