Trek in most all its forms has had cameos. Especially TNG... seemed everyone wanted to play an alien in TNG. On my visits to the set, I met a couple of those people.

And, yeah, there have been lots of cameos on Trek before, but often under mounds of makeup, or second-tier celebs or some such. The most obvious case of a famous person having an obvious role in Trek was Whoopi Goldburg on TNG...and that was when Trek was popular.

Yeah, not concerned about it. It would probably be something along the lines of Christian Slater's cameo in TUC. It's not like with Attack of the Clones, when George Lucas threatened to put N'sync in the movie as Jedis.
Interesting... the set security has, as we all know, been quite tight, but on the other hand, Abrams has been quite open about allowing lots of VIP-types on-set (both of which add up to GREAT publicity, don't they?)
So, I'm curious... if you've been on the set, how exactly did that happen? Have you actually worked on the flick in one form or another, and been there for business? Do you work for the studio and just walked on due to having a "facility-wide" security pass? Did you get an INVITATION? (and if so... how'd ya manage that one?)
C'mon... no need to spill information you're not 'sposed to, but at least share the WHY, if not the what.

Tom Cruise can play himself as an alien.
He'll be an alien redshirt who is posessed by Nero's uncle Xenu's katra. He then fights with Kirk atop an erupting volcano. Cruise falls off and grabs the edge. Kirk offers to save him, but Cruise trys to drag him off the cliff. The following is a dialogue leak:
KIRK: I (face kick) HAVE HAD (face kick) ENOUGH OF YOU!! (face kick, sending Tom cruise into the churning lava below)
