Does Chakotay have an office

hux

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
Office not orifice (before anyone makes that joke)

There was a scene where Kim handed him a report (i've already forgotten which episode) and i think i always just assumed it was his quarters but why would crew members go to his quarters to hand in reports (plus there's a huge console behind his desk which doesn't seem very homely at all....seems like an office)

But it was always a little vague and only popped up occasionally

Then i noticed the same console and desk in "Hunters" (when Neelix gives Tuvok the letter from his wife) and i'm not sure if that was supposed to be Tuvok's quarters or Chakotay's office (which Tuvok just happens to be using)

Did Chakotay have an office (was it that room i'm thinking of and where was it exactly)

I would guess that all senior officers have an "office" or more likely on a voyager sized ship share one. I'd guess anyone who can hold "command" would use it.

No one needed an office?

Networked PADDS.

13 department heads?

JANEWAY: It seems to me that people have been getting a little too comfortable around here lately. They're late for their duty shifts, taking mess hall privileges during non-designated hours. And a lot of people are spending more time on the holodeck than they are at their posts. You are Security chief. Don't thirteen department heads report to you every day?
Yup. 13.

Every department head deserves an office.

The XOs job is to manage the crew, which means that the department heads report to him too.

Do Tuvok and Chakotay get the same reports, or is Tuvok doing half of Chakotays job because he's useless and untrusted?

Does that make Chakotay a department head that has to report to Tuvok daily?

Is Morale a department? Does Neelix deserve an Office?

The Kitchenrat made 430 episode off a Briefing with Neelix, he certainly deserves something.

The Chakotay's office wasn't as nice as Janeway's. Tuvok got his revenge for being passed over for promotion, when he talked Janeway into assigning Chakotay to the port-a-john.

Yes,although I don't have any photos or clever jokes, I remember where it can be seen

episodes: tattoo and Sacred Ground come to mind.

Well, it's just a closet with a light bulb, but we tell him it's an office so he thinks he's almost as good as the real cast. The light bulb switch is in Kim's bedroom, where it's not labelled. Now and then Kim flicks it and sees nothing happen. Chakotay mistakes this for the power failing because Voyager's entering a field of isochronometric field reticulations, and it turns out he's right by simple coincidence two times out of five.

Maybe he shared his office with Tuvok, which would add another reason for tension between them.

It seemed to me that both Chakotay and Tuvok had their own offices, despite the fact that they were the same set, it seemed likely that given the small size of their offices, that there'd be room for two of them even on a smaller ship like Voyager.

And if I'm remembering correctly, in "Sacred Ground" Janeway directly refers to the room as "Chakotay's office" when wanting a transmission to be routed there.

It also makes sense for the XO to have their own office to deal with crew issues. As well as the Chief of Security, to be used for interrogations (as it was in "Meld") allowing such things to be accomplished somewhere besides the conference room, being right next to the Bridge (security risk, anyone?)

I've lost count of the amount of times i've watched Voyager but i've never noticed that office until now (i don't remember the two you mentioned but i think the Kim episode was "Revulsion")

It was definitely the same office (not sure if that means there are two of them and they just make offices to the same specs or if it's one office which Chak and Tuvok share) real world answer is because they only had one set (but it just didn't get used much)

So if not near the bridge then where?

They never really suggest a location

13 department heads

1. Security
2. Operations
3. Engineering
4. Medical
5. Astrometrics (or did that come later)
6. Moral?

Same set but decorated differently to shoot each officer's private office. Tuvok and Chakotay both have an office. Tuvok is themed yellow and Chakotay like his bedroom chose red. It's decorated with his tribe stuff.
I figured those chosen bulkhead lights were a nod to their command colors.

Ta love

That's the one. Maybe it was used more often than i realise and i just wasn't paying attention and assumed it was someone's quarters. Still not sure where it's supposed be located though

Has any character who isn't the Captain besides Odo ever been shown to have an office? I think the first officer is expected to be out and about the ship while he's on duty.

Okay so much for my theory they colored room on rank. Maybe that's the eventuality but in Tattoo his bulkhead panel lights are yellow then are red the rest of the series. but I'm not about to believe he packs his personal stuff every time it's Tuvok's turn or vis versa. "It's all yours now!" :-)

I couldn't find a consistent schematic on its location. one blueprint shows two offices on each flank of deck one, another shows only one office on deck one so I assume it's mate is directly below on deck two and the two fought over who's on top

I see Kathryn sat on the couch away from his desk.

Avoiding the power management of the big power seat behind the head of the desk looking down on her in the bitchseat.

Manipulative?

Although I remember Nachayev doing the same thing with Picard before her "I don't feel welcome on the Enterprise" speech.
