Does anyone still play pen & paper RPG's? Need some DM advice...

My old D&D group is going to try getting back together and starting a new campaign (3.5e), and I have been *cough* volunteered to be the DM.

Long story short, is it possible to run a 3.5/d20 game entirely without books? I want to use my laptop completely to run the game. Good old google led me to some different tools I could use, but I was hoping someone with experience running a game this way could point me to what stuff they use and why

Thanks in advance!

Yes, change to the Pathfinder Game system it's d&d 3.75 it's all online.

It's 3.5 but not horribly broken.

Also has a few excellent apps available.

I have been running my pathfinder game for a few years and hardly ever need my actual books.

I was going to say the same exact thing. I played D&D 3.5 for years, got irritated with it, and switched to a home-brew system which, while good, did not recapture the feeling of playing Dungeons&Dragons.

Recently we switched to Pathfinder, and I found it way better than D&D 3.5, while at the same time very easy to manage for experienced D&D players.

Also, the on-line resources are awesome, so we hardly use paper resources when playing.
