Doctor Who S7 Wishlist

-A proper story featuring Daleks or Cybermen as opposed to these meaningless cameos we've been getting.
-More Dorium.
-Captain Jack's return.
-Find a way to bring back the Sontaran nurse.
-Or what the hell, do another Sontaran story.
-Judoon are cool too.
-The Master.

But will it be Matt's choice to stay or not? "The Fall of the Eleventh," plus the 200-year-gap (making Eleven one of the longest-lived Doctors, and guaranteeing tons of eventual Big Finish/Past Doctor "episodes") strongly implies Moffat already has Matt's departure written. The temptation to cap the 50'th Anniversary with the birth of Twelve may be too strong for Moffat/the BBC to resist.

Moffat might have the general storyline worked out, but if Matt decided to stay awhile, I'm sure he could push it back for as long as necessary.

And considering how many other big events we've seen built up over the years ("The End of the Universe! The End of Time!"), I'm not too worried about whatever the "Fall of the Eleventh" means. This Doctor rebooted the entire freakin universe; anything after that should be a piece of cake for him.

For all we know, "Fall of the Eleventh" could end up meaning autumn on the eleventh moon of the Poosh system. :D

As for what I want, I'd really like a season without the convoluted, interconnected timey-wimey shenanigans that plagued much series 6 -- some of which (even dating back to series 5) still hasn't been explained. There's a cool way to do that sort of thing and a confusing, frustrating way to do it, and last series there was more of the latter than the former. The Doctor travelling through time and space with his companion(s) and getting into adventures sounds like a lot of fun.

"Fall of the eleventh"

The eleventh fell from orbit, and he was fine.

4 fell from ten feet and he regenerated.

6 tripped and hit his head on the consol, INSIDE THE TARDIS and REGENERATED...

But the 11th fell from orbit and he was fine.

Indestructible? I thought the impact suit was designed to survive reentry, not that it was magically indestructible.

I'd like to see fewer fans complaining that Moffat's not as good as he used to be, not as good as RTD, not doing a good job with the show in general. I'd like to see fewer fans defend Moffat by slagging off RTD (or vice versa!), and I'd like to see fewer fans crying for the return of the Rani/Ace/Rose Tyler/Other Random Element. I'd like to see more fans grateful for the fact that this little show that started as a curiosity in a junkyard is now the most popular thing on British television and is finally getting the recognition that it deserves, in addition to being the greatest thing on television.

But I expect someone will be along any minute now to tell me how wrong I am.

You say that like Doctor Who is doing me a favor out of the goodness of its heart, that I should simply be grateful for the privilege of watching it, regardless of its quality.

I'd love to see that too. Hopefully Moffat will improve next season and we won't have to complain any longer.

:techman:

For what's it's worth, I have still been enjoying Moffat's run. Doesn't mean I can't still have criticisms about certain choices he makes.

So we have to agree with you then? Because my wish is, quite simply, for someone other than Moffat to be running the show.

It's nice to have it on the air but it's not the best thing going and the writing quality isn't all that great. But then when has the writing on the show ever been great anyhow? Some classics are cringe worthy. I still like them. *shrugs*

Yeah, same. I'm disappointed in his version of Who, but there's still a lot to like about it.

I think a great many fans and critics would disagree about the quality of the writing. More likely, you just don't like the whimsical fairytale direction Moffat has decided to take the show.

The Doctor gives his companions, who ever they may be, a paint brush each, and together they all paint the exterior of the TARDIS yellow.

So when the TARDIS next materializes, the Beatles say what the hell is that?

And the Doctor replies "It's my SUBMARINE!!!"

My Season 7 wish list is for more science fiction on alien planets that aren't horror or fairytale-esque stories.

I'm looking for a little sci-fi. And not everything has to be as grand as resetting the universe. The guy from Quantum Leap travelled around space and time and all he did was make meaningful changes in peoples lives, not necessarily saving the entire earth every show.

I guess I'd like 11 to be a little more serious. He's too much of a magical wizard at this point.

They have been good, great even. Did you not see "The Doctor's Wife," "The Girl Who Waited," and "The God Complex"?

I'd like the episodes to be good again.
It's not like RTD had only great episodes. The first series had a lot of things that really didn't work. There were a few things that were great. I loved Chris Eccleston as the doctor as I said many times. But the story lines for most RTD Doctor Who often basically were similar to early Jon Pertwee episodes which that was done because of necessity as much as anything. Which was some sort of earth invasion and the doctor stopping it. Or some force trying to kill people and the Doctor preventing it.

I think the Moffat era has sorta gone against that patern. Not completely against it with the Silence, but there's been more episodes the last 2 seasons really about the relationship between the Doctor and his companions. And there's been some good episodes in there too.

In series one you can pretty much watch Rose, Dalek then the final 4 episodes as a new Who viewer and baiscally get all the info from series one that you need.

Series two through four are similar. The last 2 series you basically have to watch almost every episode or you miss something. There's a few episodes that do go off the theme for that series but they even have something that ties in.
