Oh and i forgot Jack when he saw there was 3 doctors
You have no idea what i am thinking now:devil:
That line is so Jack:guffaw:
One for the grown ups

Loved the brilliant twist involving Caan, brilliantly done. Then again, why bring back Davros at all to create a new Dalek race if he wanted the Daleks dead in the first place. I know that the things insane, but that's just stupid.

The real star of this finale is Donna in my opinion. Throughout this season Donna has been a terrific character and for me has been by far the best companion of the new series. Donna with the Doctor's mind was awesome, sheer awesome. If there was anything in this show that was going to make me cry, it would be her departure.

This realisation comes as a bit of a shock since when I first heared they'd be bringing her back I wasn't too sure about her.

There are a few failings in the show, but the main one for me is how easily the Daleks were wiped out. That said, I reckon Davros escaped. Other then that though the Daleks were treated perfectly.

I loved Sarah Jane's cheer when Luke called her "mum". I loved the way she couldn't wait to get home to him and really rushed off from the Doc. What a change from last time. But right now I'm really quite down in the mouth about Donna. I'm really very upset about what happened to her. If Donna is left like this I don't think I'll ever forgive RTD. :( In fact I'm so cut up I can't even talk about Rose and Doc2 being together. And I should be loving that.

Davros needed Daleks to do his plan and Caan needed Davros to do his plan so The Doctor could wipe them out.

Fantastic, David Tennant hasn't gone :bolian:. May he remain for a long time to come. Great ending, I still got goosebumps even thought I read those spoilers abouts Donna months ago. I liked the German speaking daleks although it took a minute for me to realise they were speaking German as I had a glass of wine while I was watching and I thought I wasn't hearing "exterminate" properly.

It is going to be another long wait to Christmas. Bring on the Cybermen!

Oh yeah, "exterminieren" isn't a German word- that's fucking Speigel-Deutsch, that is (the German equivalent of Franglais, that German tabloid TV uses!) They should be shouting "vertilgen" - like they do in the German-dubbed episodes actually aired in Germany!

Hah. German-dubbed Daleks speaking a different German than German Daleks.. that's going to give someone a headache.

Caan wants to wipe out the Daleks after seeing them kill billions of aliens.
Caan rescues Davros as part of his master plan.
Davros makes new Dalek empire which goes about exterminating millions.
Caan reveals that his plan was for the Doctor to wipe out the Daleks.

I'm still having trouble understanding the logic in Caan's Master Plan.

Cann was nuts he was not that logical.

Caan's barking mad, having been unhinged by flying into the Time War. Why would anything he does be logical?

And they should still have called it "Wrath of Caan"

Plus, there's the "fullfilling the prophecy" angle. Caan saw the future, and played his part to make it happen.

Hi all,

I've lurked here for a bit and hope you don't mind if I give my two pennies worth.:)

I think the episode was good, but very much suffered from the need to include every one of the doctors companions.

The Good:

As others have said, it was the emotional stuff (Cribbins in particular) that made the episode. Tennant really does the 'lonely man, carrying the burden of the Universe' thing really well (he's a brilliant actor) and the last few moments of this episode were perfect. I also enjoyed the scene where the doctor is challenged by Davros about his inherent influence on those who know him/ come across him.

The Bad:

As I said, there were just too many companions. Despite Davies best efforts (I have enjoyed his worked on Doctor Who since its revival), the inclusion of so many different characters with aplethora of random weapons just left a situation where there was no space for the episode to breathe. The emotional stuff I mentioned was pushed out due to limited running time (even at 65 minutes). There was really no need for most of these people to make an appearence (and I like them all as charcters). For people who have not seen the Sarah Jane Adventures or Torchwood, the two-parter must have been confusing and distracting. Why would Sarah Jane, last seen in Series 2 with K-9 on her own suddenly have a talking computer and a 14 year old son? Who are Gwen and Ianto they would ask?

These distractions weren't needed. I think the least-well handled aspect was Rose. We now know that the Doctor did/does 'love' her in more than a friendship-way. Yet her departure was rushed and not a little creepy. I know there are alot of Rose-haters on here, but I liked her charcter simply because she was believable and had great chemistry with David Tennant (the banter in Series 2 was very witty). I thought her departure in Doomsday was perfect. But here she was given so little air-time (because the episodes were so crammed full of events) that her return was a big anti-climax that spoiled the emotional impact of the end of series 2. She and the doctor weren't even given a proper reunion. He shoved her off onto a beach, with a clone, and legged it back to the Tardis. No proper send-off. It should have been left alone. Alternatively, the Doctors charcter could have been better examined had only Rose returned for the two-parter. The scenes with the Doctor and Davros and the examination of the Doctor's nature could have been better explored, with the added perspective of the woman who helped the Doctor recover from the trauma of the Time War-Rose Tyler. Dumping her with a clone was just creepy to me.

Caan knew how the future would playout if he kept with Davros re-creating the Dalek race and being seconds away from ending all life so I guess he could of maybe tried a different way but he knew this way even with so many dying, the end result would be the death of Davros and his creation.

If he tried to change things he may of failed and The Daleks could of become more powerful.

Well that was dissapointing! Was expecting like some big revelation that Donna was a timelord or somert.
there was the line "the last of child of the timelords" or thats what I remeber Cann saying, anyways moving on.

K9, cool
German Daleks, cool
Donna forgets everything,tragic beyond words
Davros, just brilliant
Cann, he changed sides? im confused (as stated above)
two or three Doctors, well first off this is the 11th Doctor, the other human Doctor, well im glad they didnt give him a set of regenerations as I mentioned previously, but he didnt seem to have anywhere near the life of the proper Doctor.
DoctorDonna, you what? that was some crazy ass shit right there.

one thing I didnt get, who was pushing theDoctor & Donna together?

Martha & Mickey, does seem that Martha is joining Torchwood, as for Mickey I dont know I kind of want to see him in Sara Jane Adventures first.

and talking of the Sara Jane Adventures, was that necklace featured in the series, it seemed fimilar I cant place it however.

They could've done with subtitles for the German stuff... Ich sprecht nicht Deutsch sehr gut. :p (Trans: My German is not good.)

Loved it other than that.

Fucking A!

When I first heard Catherine Tate was going to be the companion I shuddered, but now her year is up, I can honestly say I prefered her to Martha and Rose.

Such a sad ending, I could take her dying if she could take her memories of her time with teh doctor with her, maybe alternative timeline Donna did just that, but to have all her adventures erased, to never know how important she was, that sucks.

Love the cloned Doctor taking her personality, I just wonder if Donna couldnt take having a time lords memories in her head, how can the human doctor still live?

Or maybe he didnt, maybe he keeled over soon after the tardis left, that would fuck Rose up bigtime.

Hope Martha lets her hair down, she looks too much like a boy with that haircut.

I loved the tardis being flown as it was always meant to be, with six pilots, shame it will probably never happen again.

When you watch the confidentials, you get an idea of how much Tennent loves the doctor, hes is the biggest fan, and he gets to play the man himself, I fully beleive he could break Tom Bakers record of seven years.

The man took a picture of Davros on his mobile phone, he stays to watch scenes being filmed that hes not in, he comes on set to deliver lines the doctor says over the phone or on tv, he lives and breaths doctor who, and knows more trivia than any of us, he is the doctor, and he will be for a looooooooonnnnnnngggggggggg time, knock on the wooden door of the tardis (which should have been teh first thing to burn in that firey pit, but lets not nitpick)

Roll on christmas!!!!

Heh, It could have been alot better.

I mean, The Daleks are pathetic now, even Davros, whom Julian Bleach gave a fantastic performance of, if needlessly taken down a peg (Oh, you spoke in relation to blah blah your not the leader....why the f**k not?) are just so easily disposed of, why do they even bother bringing them back with such fanfare?

Also, the second Doctor going off with rose? That was a bit of a cop out wasnt it? As much as they want to say "oh he's the same" he clearly isnt...if Steven Moffat has any spark of genius about him (which he does), he'd bring back that second Doctor as a bad guy, for whatever reason the universe he is in goes way south and turns the doctor even more (remember, he is pretty much the doctor's rage embodied - why did he think leaving rose with him would be a good idea?) because that would just be so awesome to see Tennant back (at whatever point he does leave) in a guest spot with so much dramatic oomph, im gonna be hoping for that for years to come.

Having said that, the bits with Martha in Germany - Brilliant, nice to see a show not using the painfull accenttosignifyanotherlanguage thing.
Also, all the companions in the Tardis was a very nice touch, although pulling the Earth seemed a bit...too much.
Also, No campy Xmas Special lead in! Wahey! That "what? WHAT?!" device cheapened the last 2 season finale's, im SO happy they didnt cheapen it this time round.
