This was a pretty good episode. I gave it an above average.

I liked the doctor's future companion. Especially how she teased the Doctor with his own No Spoilers rule. It sounds as if this version of the Doctor is going to live for quite some time. Donna was awesome as usual. She is by far my favorite companion for the Doctor. Hopefully the next episode gives us a good payoff.

Same here. And I hope that she is a companion for a season or so. Loved her on ER.

Two days to go......I must admit I'm really looking forward to the next part, and that does not happen much...

Me too. I want to see how they get Donna back.

Is it wrong that I'm looking more forward to Doctor Who than Battlestar this week? Of course it's been that way for a while now but I don't think I've had this much anticipation for a Doctor Who episode. Last week really would have been a damn good season finale.

Nope - not wrong. I'm loving this season.

I feel pretty sorry for Donna this season. She's supposed to be the "main" companion, but already she's had to deal with a past companion for three episodes (Martha) and a future companion for two (River). And we already know that THE companion, Rose, will be returning very soon.

Sorry, but I've got a friend who wrote the same random-order-time-travel-romance story years before (called Bad Timing), had it published to rave reviews, and had a film development deal working out nicely until TTW came along and suddenly it was 'too similar'.

Would that be "Bad Timing," by Molly Brown?

For what it's worth, years ago when I read The Time Traveler's Wife I really liked it. But then when I dug it out of storage and reread it on my morning and evening commute earlier this week, it annoyed the hell out of me. Oh, the first two hundred pages, when Clare is growing up were fine. But I kept waiting for anything to happen, and the selfishness, self-centeredness, and narcissism of Clare and Henry as adults was appalling. (Also, I completely misremembered how Henry died; I remembered vague outlines, so the nature of it left me cold.)

Neil Gaiman's right. There are some books you shouldn't ever reread. This is one of them. I'd recommended this for nearly five years, and I can't do that anymore.

Easily the best episode of the season to date, IMO, and the only one that has gotten me s excited as some of the best of last season. If part II can deliver, it really will be as good as the best of last season.
