Why do I see a spin-off series called "Jenny Who" aimed at the tween-age girls like a sci-fi Hannah Montana?
You shouldn't. I didn't seem the character as being that kind of girl.

And, boy is Georgia Moffett smokin' hot.

She's already a mother, you know? Made Peter Davison a grandfather a lot earlier than he probably expected... but his second marriage kids and her son both get the six year old dream of a TARDIS tour as a result!

Indeed, she had a child at 17. I would not expect "Jenny" to be a Miley Ray Cyrus-esque spin-off, just on those ground alone.

Doesn't affect things as much as one would think; Jamie Lynn-Spears was allowed to finish up her show on Nick (and that doesn't even get into the things her sister has done yet still stayed in the spotlight).

To be honest, it becomes hazy what such a black-listing would really promote. Certainly we want to promote abstinence, but I also think we do not want to promote risky, secret back-room abortions as an attempt to protect a career.

The actress's own, "youthful discretion" aside, I really didn't see the character of "Jenny" as a teeny-kind of character. She seemed more Torchwood than SJA to me.

She seemed closer to Xena than either SJA or Torchwood. :techman:

I found the story enjoyable, liked the weird tech that created Jenny. Thought Jenny was great, very much her father's daughter:) ...my only complaint (which is small and petty) was I thought Jenny looked too much like Rose. I 'd have prefered if they had given her brown hair like the 10th Doctor has. My petty quibble aside I loved the ending, so full of adventure and hope. Of course she wants to have adventures of her own.

Georgia Moffett was up for the part of Rose so there's a good reason why she looked alittle like Rose.

Really loved the Doctor's storyline in this episode, and getting to see him and Donna just have a quiet, interesting conversation for a change. I certainly don't have a problem with all the frantic running around people do on this show, but sometimes it seems like that's ALL they do. And if they ever do stop running, it's just to shout exposition at each other. lol

This episode seemed to strike a much better balance between drama and action.

And even though the introduction of the daughter was a little too abrupt for my taste, the actress was so damn cute and charming she won me over completely by the end. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing more of her. :D

Finally got a chance to see this episode and I must say that David Tennant is a very lucky bastard, first Sophia Myles then Georgia Moffet!! I voted above average almost was inclined to vote excellent...loved the concept of Jenny and the Doctor struggling to accept her. I wonder if we will ever get the names of the Doctor's daughter or other children...I know about Susan...shouldn't she still be alive or at least have a family of her own by now since the First Doctor left her behind?

Is it just me or does Martha get seperated from the Doctor a lot and end up travelling alone? Interesting...she's grown a lot from when we first saw her though in "Smith and Jones". I loved her line..."I'm Doctor Martha Jones, now who the hell are you?" after she helps the Hath. Did I mention how hot Georgia Moffet was?

The thing did come across as being very anti bible, I cant see this episode going down well in the bible belt.

Myth of creation, a race created in 7 days, a garden of eden, a girl made from a peice of a man..

Maybe but my family and I being Christians, didn't see it as being anti-Bible. (Was probably more concerned about the Terraforming thing being similar to the Genesis Device)

It was antidenominational not antibible. But then, I agree McCoy's rant was bouncing around my head...

Not anymore! Now we can do both at the same time! According to myth, the Earth was created in six days. Now, watch out! Here comes Genesis, we'll do it for you in six minutes.

This story was so horrid in all aspects, the only thing it offended was my sense of enjoyment and taste...

A story promoted as and titled "The Doctors Daughter" should have been about Susan's mother or possibly her aunt.

That is all.

I agree - but did we really think that's what it would be when it was announced?

Mind you, I wasn't expecting the pile 'o garbage we got...

I hoped and prayed that it would be about Susan's mum or aunt, but I realized that it wasn't likely...

You know...to be honest...it's not even the lack of touching upon or dealing with the whole Susan thing when speaking of family. It's the utter and complete cliche-fest that defined it. There was nothing at all redeemable about the hollow, pedestrian nature of the plot, execution, dialogue, and acting. It was every generic sci-fi clone concept slapped together with every soap opera 'suddenly-a-family-member/gone-by-the-end', beat-by-beat forced-emoting of the week crapfest. I wasn't thrilled by this girl's acting, either. She might be better than the material (what and who isn't?), but I'd have to see it.

Would I have liked it to be about Susan? If the plot was the same, then dear lord no. I'd rather just forget it ever happened and chalk it up to no season is perfect.

Worst episode of Doctor Who ever created...

Fear Her is a close second. Time-Flight is old and campy in a 'oh-god-I-can't-believe-they-made-this' kind of way. It's almost so bad, there's a sort of fondness for it. The Doctor's Daughter is just lazy, intellectually offensive storytelling. Again, all just my opinion. Not trying to bash anyone who likes it...

I really enjoyed this episode. I know nothing about Susan or Susan's mum or whatever, so this has no bearing on how I perceived the title of the episode. Loooved Georgia Moffett though. Hope she comes back!
