Regarding the Thor cameo, has it actually been confirmed that Doctor Strange appears in some capacity in Thor: Ragnarok? The only information that I can find only refers to the scene in this film as proof.

I am putting this in spoiler quotes but...

...while filming Thor 3, a photo from the set showed Thor looking at Doctor Strange address on a card. That suggested Doctor Strange appears in some capacity and people now taking the scene as confirmation that he does. Apart from that nothing definite.

They have the rights to make a Namor film, but Feige has suggested there may be remnants of old deals still in play that might require them to distribute it through someone else or otherwise have to compromise with another party, which Disney is presumably not inclined to do. That was where it stood earlier this year anyways.

What else are they going to do? Ragnarok has Thor, Loki, Hulk and now Strange. I mean, we know that people aren't going to Thor solo movies to see Thor himself. Haha.
All they need is:
Valkyrie
Silver Surfer
Nighthawk
Namor
^^^
And we have the original 'DEFENDERS' ;) [Yeah, I know, not going to happen]

Actually, yeah, after thinking about it some more, the whole point of the Insight helicarriers was to target and eliminate not just current threats to Hydra, but potential threats, too. Stephen Strange may have just (just!) been a neurosurgeon at the time, but a man with such an exceptional mind that he could have caused trouble for Hydra in the future if he ever directed his talents elsewhere.

Also Hydra had decades putting the Insight program together..who knows what resources they had at their disposal to make the list..for all we know they had magical artifacts that could see the potential of Strange as a manipulator of magical abilities...

Now Hydra may have not thought of it as magic but as the ability to tap an unusual energy sources...like the Infinity stones..which is the case with Strange and the Time stone.

Doctor Strange has made nearly $500 million in two weeks. Currently sits at $492,614,169 worldwide. It's at #12 for highest grossing films. It'll overtake Kung Fu Panda 3 in the next few days and kick X-Men Apocalypse out of the top 10 by week's end I wager. Strange is already 2 million short of surpassing Apocalypse's total domestic gross.

Say hello to the new boss, same as the old boss.

It was all based on Zola's algorithm.
Basically a list of millions of people who are extremely influential, ideologically opposed to the new world order and likely to resist.
That Sitwell mentioned Strange at all was just an Easter Egg. I doubt the name had any meaning to Cap.
Unless, of course, Strange was involved in Steve's recovery process after being frozen in the arctic dor 60 years.
Which is not that far fetched, thinking about it, as the world's leading neuro surgeon.

Its funny some were saying Strange would be the first bomb of the MCU..now its one of it's biggest hits.

Gave it an A-... The minus mostly for not stretching beyond the typical MCU guidelines...

But Cumberbatch was excellent in the role. I was skeptical at first but other then a couple minor vocal ticks when I though his English accent tried to break out, I really found his portrayal well done.

Cookie cutter bad guy, but the action was really done well and this is one of the only movies I have seen that really used 3D well.

Liked the humor and got a good laugh out of the scene with the refilling beer mug. :)

People have been expecting a bomb from Marvel for years now. I don't they'll have one. Spider-Man Homecoming has a lot to prove though. Of the studios making CBM, it really is Fox's XCU that is falling behind. The DCEU is teflon and the MCU the king. Fox recently said they are considering another reboot to jump start the XCU. Since Apocalypse underperformed.

Those folks are one day going to get their wish. The incessant hating though has gotten old.
The flop was going to be GotG, I mean a gun totting raccoon and talking space tree??!!
Then it was going to be Ant-Man, nope.

I'm frankly surprised the haters aren't calling for Black Panther to be the next flop. Guess even they acknowledge the awesome cast and MS track record for that film.

I haven't heard any rumors that "Doctor Strange" was a flop. I had assumed it was a hit.
You shouldn't be, not by anyone paying attention to the actual receipts of the film. It's a hit, make no mistake on that.

It's at $160m US domestic after just 13 days. It'll pass $200m coming out of the Thanksgiving long weekend time frame. Passing $500m Worldwide in there somewhere on a reported $165m budget.
Even if the budget is fudged and it's closer to a $200m budget the film is going to do over $600m WorldWide before it's retired sometime end of January '17.

I think you misunderstood, they weren't saying it was a flop, they were saying some people thought it was going to be a flop before it came out.
