Spoiling the redshirt death of Lt. Nobody is really not a big deal because it doesn't affect the plot at all, he's pretty much forgotten 8 seconds after his death.

I think in my head canon I might retcon this guy as the unnamed geologist from The Cage, just for the sake of continuity. Taking on the mantle of chief science officer in Spock's absence really went to the guy's head.

I thought Nhan was being earmarked for death before the scene started, considering she was wearing red and Pike even made the comment that she was wearing red.

That's what made it too obvious to me. As soon as they made a point of calling out the "redshirt" I figured it was a misdirect and the only other non-main character in the group was going to wind up asteroid pizza.

Then when he started arrogantly monologuing I began counting down the seconds until he got squashed like a bug on an asteroid windshield.

Oh, and Jayson, I changed the title, but be more careful about posting spoilers in the title from now on, okay? I know Connelly wasn't exactly a major character, but just play it safe.
