Do you want the Kelvin Universe to continue?

Personally, I didn't care at all for the Kelvinverse and am indifferent as to whether it continues or not. I would never deprive others of more material in this milieu if they enjoy it, but personally I'll be a hard pass. I didn't like the aesthetic of the movies, the way they shamelessly robbed old material instead of doing something new, 'star wars-ized' the franchise, or the other silliness like leapfrogging a misfit midshipman to command of a starship and destroying the Enterprise YET AGAIN. Believing in these moves required more suspension of disbelief than that needed for transporters and warp drives themselves.

I was watching ST09 the other night, and I just marvel at how well the cast work together. To me, they're the people they claim to be, even though the timeline is clearly altered, and their experiences have changed. Also, Pegg just kills me.

It depends on what is done with the Kelvinverse going forwards.

Within the TOS era, seeing the crew interact with Una, Captain Terrell, Lt. Illa, Kor, Kang, Chang, Gorkon, Kruge, Sybok, and/or Burnham & the Disco crew in different scenarios could be worth it if they say something new and don’t rehash old stories.

If the Kelvinverse jumps ahead to the TNG/DS9/VOY era, then tell the stories that weren’t told in the prime timeline; i.e. Captain Riker of the USS Enterprise with Commander Shelby as first officer, Yar surviving in place of Troi, Romulans occupying Bajor, the Dominion being a Gamma Quadrant version of the Federation, Jadzia living/Sisko leaving the station permanently and the consequences of those events, the Maquis mutiny on Voyager, Janeway choosing to not help the Borg with Species 8472, the DS9-VOY crossover, the ENT-E as a Nova class vessel instead of a Sovereign-class vessel, Khan in the 24th century.

There are many different directions to go in with the Kelvinverse in existence.

I want the Kelvin Timeline to continue as a Bad Robot production independent of the television franchise, boldly going where no one has gone before, or with a massive twist on wherever the Prime Timeline has already been. I want it to be substantially different from whatever SNW is likely to do, which means no five-year mission on the Enterprise-A. I want storylines to take advantage of the likelyhood that several of the main cast won’t return, which means focusing on those who stay behind and introducing brand-new characters who would become iconic to Star Trek.

yeh whatever they are planning for a kelvin ST4 the best bet is to go nostalgia/legacy stuff as thats the thing these days. Beyond went in its own direction (bar the last 5 minutes) and paid the price

Beyond paid the price because everyone seemed tired of it all, from the lack of a promotional campaign to Kirk writing a log entry about one day blending into the next, to him then thinking about leaving, Spock thinking about leaving… Wait, I thought the tagline was “The human adventure is just beginning.” The adventure was from 2260 to 2262? You don’t want to lose momentum like that.

It might be crazy but I wonder if TPTB have actually considered trying to remake TMP. The timing is almost right between '09 and now, and one of the biggest criticisms of TMP is that it's "too 2001" and "not accessible" to a wider audience. A good screenwriter could redo that story without changing it into an action shoot-em-up. In fact, it would be a chance to fix a few flaws from the original, which was made very seat-of-the-pants in a rush with no completed script at all.
Being the Kelvinverse, there could also be a couple of twists to differentiate it from the original. I have no doubt that the Kelvinverse actors could pull off the parts they would need to play. In fact, I'd look forward to seeing Pine and Quinto perform TMP.
PS- TMP happens to be my fav Trek film, but I'm compelled by the idea of this cast and crew trying it again.

Beyond was the first of the new films I liked all that much and I was looking forward to a 4th one but I think too much time has passed now and it's time to move on to something else.

No, it shouldn't continue. It was sold to an audience of film goers that have long forgotten it and moved on to other things and was a franchise that didn't appeal to many fans of what came before. So who would a sequel be for? There would probably be more of a fan base for a Discovery movie since that's what the netflix generation knows.

Now, if they did a sequel and brought back Khan I would watch that but just another alien of the week threatening the Universe menace doesn't interest me.

I would give almost anything to get another Beyond-style film, especially if it gave us the return of Hemsworth as George Kirk as proposed, but that ship really has sailed, and the contractual issues between Paramount and Bad Robot mean it's unlikely to ever be revisited in any major form.

Still Beyond was a wonderful breath of fresh air after the utter garbage that was Into Darkness, and while "simplistic" in some aspects, was very, very Trek at its core, with a lot of heart. It gave everyone in the main Enterprise crew at least a moment to shine, gave us Spock-McCoy material that is on par with the best of Nimoy and Kelley, and introduced the first "new" crew character in a film since Saavik that we wanted to see more of. Beyond's only problem was really in wasting Idris Elba like that. And I would give anything for more Trek films in that mold, with the Enterprise-A redesign we got an all-too-brief glimpse of.
