A little of both. Tie up the general storyline of this particular movie, but leave questions that can only be resolved with a twelfth film.

Definitely think it will leave something hanging at the end.

Nimoy's comment about 'not wanting it to end' when it does end
make me thinks so, but that doesn't mean cliffhanger, just my vote.

Nothing on the lines of a new-cast character DYING or anything. But perhaps an issue or crisis in the Federation as a result of the Nero attack that won't be fully solved and wrapped up until the next film.

While I think the entire story will be wrpped up, I agree that there may be some things left unexplained -- I mean things that may never be explained, even in a sequel. Simply items for us fans to dicuss and attempt to interpret, until the end of time (as if we need the fodder).

I think they will leave nothing hanging.
That's the impression I got a couple of times Abrams and co were asked about sequels.

Nimoy's comment about 'not wanting it to end' is not Nimoy's but his wifes.

"My wife is not a big science fiction fan, and we saw a close-to-finished cut of the movie a couple of months ago," Nimoy says. "As the story began to wrap up, she leaned over and told me, ‘I don’t want this movie to end.’"

Unless there's another quote I don't remember :)

Depends on what you call a cliffhanger. Its definitely going to end with the Enterprise embarking on its five year mission.

Which...in of itself...is a cliffhanger since the timeline has been altered and we have no clue IF Kirk and his crew will even finish THIS five-year mission.
