Do you still read Sunday paper?

I pick up the Sunday paper every week because it's a bit of a ritual for me, to be honest. It's just nice to sit here with a cup of coffee, reading the paper and pretending I have nothing else to do until I've read everything I want.

Also, I don't really like reading the sales flyers online, and I like the coupons in the paper...

used to read it back home, more out of ritual than anything and only cos mum paid for the paper subscription. It was a murdoch paper put together via cut n paste, long on bias, short on quality.

Since moving, nope. the local paper here (owned by Sun Media) doesn't publish on Sundays and even during the week it's not the money you have to pay for it.

Yes, I read it most every Sunday unless I'm too busy. I live in a smallish town and like to read the local news, especially the school news. I'm rather retro--I will never buy a Kindle or Nook because I prefer to read books. I don't spend a lot of time online outside of my job. And that's probably why I prefer print media in my free time since I spend so much time online at work.

I subscribe to the local paper online, which one of their editors helped me figure out a way to access the PDF file on my iPad. If not for that and the ultra low price (less than $6/month), I wouldn't read it. I don't download it daily anyway, but the rate breaks down to less than $.20 per day.

I don't watch the local news so it is my only source of finding out about local events. But it doesn't break my heart or wallet if I miss a day or 5.

I subscribe to my daily local paper as well as the Sunday New York Times. I get some news off the Internet but find the printed news coverage to be more in-depth. Plus I love the daily sudoku puzzle.

Sunday is the only day that I read a newspaper. I generally spend three hours at breakfast with the NYT. It's recreational reading.

Newspapers aren't the only print industry going through tough times, the entire print industry is going through a radical transformation.

But on topic: I do read a Sunday newspaper, the Sunday NYT

Borders Group may be forced to close all of its remaining stores, including seven in metro Atlanta, if no bidder is found in the next few weeks, according to a report in the Detorit Free Press.
The report cited people "familiar with the matter" as saying the company has not been able to find a bidder for the entire chain and that a deadline for finding going-concern bids to keep the chain alive passed May 6.
However, sources said the book store chain believes it has a few more weeks to find a bidder before it may be forced to close all of its stores and go out of business.
The chain previously said it would close 200 stores when it announced it had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Feb. 16 and announced would close roughly one-third of its stores nationwide. Since then it has said an additional 75 stores may be closed. It currently has seven stores in Atlanta having closed six here recently.

There's no reason you can't do both. I'm an incurable book lover, but there's a lot of stuff that's only available in PDF format. Plus which, since I got a Nook for my birthday, I'm finally able to read Varney The Vampire.

Not only do I still get a daily paper, Sunday is the one day of the week I get it delivered (two of 'em in fact). Being able to read the Sunday papers whilst eating Breakfast is one little luxury I still treat myself to.....

I very often browsed trough the newspaper everyday and read the stories that I found most interesting, when I was still living in Finland with my parents It was one of my rituals.
My Czech is, sadly still so bad that I can even think of reading the local papers right now..but maybe someday. ( I could try to find an English paper somewhere, though..)

I've never read the newspaper in any ritualistic manner and I don't have a subscription. I work in local TV news so I'm privy to what's going on around town but I wouldn't pay attention to local news otherwise. I do follow national/international news closely online.
