Do You Know Kung Fu? A martial arts thread

    Just thought I'd start one cos a fitness and sports forum could do with one.

    Studying for me next taekwondo dan grading, if anybody's wondering. What about the rest of you?

    I've always wanted to pick up a martial art. Recently, I narrowed down my preferences to ones that are self defense oriented, in order of preference: Krav Maga, Hapkido, Tae Kwon Do. I live closer to Koreatown in Los Angeles, so it'd be easier to find a place that teaches the Korean arts, but the largest Krav Maga training center outside of Israel sits over in Santa Monica, if I were willing to drive out that far. I'm going to have to think about it.

    Krav Maga's a good - if risky on the chances of getting prosecuted - one for self defence.

    I'm on taekwondo these days for the workout as much as anything else...

    I've practised Kung-Fu (and Chi Kung) for the last 20 years - man I'm old... :(
