Do you ignore the "new" Star Trek?

There's been new Star Trek??? When??

The only new Star Trek I know of is online. And I think they're done by devoted fans.

Nope.

You're confusing fan films with real Star Trek. Hard to imagine, really.

Fans, many of whom evidently understand it far better than JJ the hack.

As much as I like the various fan films, most aren't really trying to create anything new. They are simply following very closely to the already made mold. Which is fun is in its own right, but I find is very unsatisfying after a while. YMMV.

Newsflash, TrekBBSers...in case you didn't catch it the fifty million other times he's said it, Warped9 hates the new Star Trek movies.

One thing that happened since this thread first came around is that I saw Into Darkness. I didn't like it. That being the case, I have no real reason or desire to talk about it again. This post doesn't count.

I did like the film. But it is obvious that not everything is going to work for everyone. Everybody is different and has different things they are looking for in entertainment.

I just dislike the drive-by attacks in threads that aren't remotely related to the movies. They are tedious.

Putting aside the dubiousness of the thread being bumped, to answer the question I don't try to ignore *any* Star Trek. Heck, when I was in high school I used to rave on about The Animated Series back when the general consensus was that it 'officially' didn't exist. I didn't care. For me, it was years 4 and 5 of the original mission, and I'd never let anyone tell me otherwise. :D

So no, generally the JJ-movies don't bother me. :p

^^ I can understand that.

I ignore nothing. I just don't watch it again if I don't like it.
There you go.

Who cares? At some point you just get tired of hearing it.
Just as those of us who get tired of hearing we should be kissing JJ's ass.

No one's making you do anything you don't want to do. Choosing to constantly bitch about it is your choice.

Okay, folks. This thread is over a year old (:scream:), and leading quickly to an argument that's not about TOS, but about the new films.
