Do you have a pet?

I don't have a pet right now. My sweetie Carolina died in August...

I miss her a lot. She was the perfect kitty. I had her for sixteen years. I know all pet owners say this, but she was very special, like she was made for me.

I am thinking about getting another cat, one of my neighbors has a really cute kitten that she is trying to get me to take. It sounds completely stupid, but I feel like I'm betraying my sweet Carolina if I take her, but at the same time maybe she'd want me to take care of another kitty, I took good care of her, so I just might. Yeah, I'm sad. :(

Aw, Flukie, I'm sorry to hear that. I remember you posted pictures of her. :(

She looked like a happy, spoiled kitty. I'm sure she wouldn't mind if you spoiled another one. :)

Thought I'd post another video of my girl, Lily:

She has an obsession with digging. Nothing seems to stop her, and every now and then she just digs on something for 5 minutes. I realized after a while that it was just easier to find a place where I could let her dig, rather than try to curb the behavior. So now I have a throw rug that is her spot to dig, so she has stopped trying to do it on the couch or my bed.

That's her in the garden about a month before she died. She had gotten fleas from another cat in the building and she never had them before in sixteen years and the scratching and subsequent open sores from the scratches finally got to her and I came home from work to find her on the bed where she would have normally would have waited for me to come home from work. I buried her in the backyard, the neighborhood cats seem to congregate there like she was the queen.

The feline members of our family include a black American Shorthair named Familiar, a Calico named Kira (after the Dark Crystal character), another large mottled-grey American Shorthair named Neo-Farragut (Neo for short, he was named after another cat we had who died that looked just like him named Farragut - who in turn was Familiar's son, and named after the starship), A grey A.S. named Chloe (after the Smallville character) that is Familiar's daughter, and a Tortie named Mia Meow.

Aside from Farragut, we also had an orange A.S. that was Neo's brother, named Charlemagne Beauregard (Charlie, for short), pass away a few years ago, and a larger Black Shorthair that was Farragut and Chloe's brother named Xander (after the Buffy character) died a while before that.

Our canine family member is an American Eskimo Spitz named Saratoga (after the starship.)

And our bunny is a Holland Lop named R. Sebastian Bach. The Sebastian Bach part is partially after the lead singer of Skid Row, partially after the composer, and the "R" stands for Rabbit, in honor of R. Daneel Olivaw (whose R stood for Robot).

I have three cats who go by many names.

They are Miss Chicken aka Ruler of the Universe, Highest of the High, Little Three Legged Cat Extraordinaire, My Preciousssss and Mummy's Little Girl. She is 10 years old and we have had her since the day she was born. She is quiet cat around humans but dominate among cats despite her small size or the fact that she was born with only three legs. She is somewhat aloof towards me. Here is her photo.

Then we have 4 year old Spider aka The Big Wuss, or Run Away from Dangerman. He is the largest of the three but is scared of nearly everything. Very few people have ever seen him as he hides from visitors. He gets on well with both Miss Chicken and Georgy. He is affectionate towards me.

About the only thing he isn't scared of is spiders which he loves to chase. Here is a fun photo of him with a spider.

And last of all Georgy aka Lord George of Titchwood, Scum (Miss Chicken's name for him), or Lowest of the Low. He is about 2 1/2 years old. He was abandoned by his owners when they moved and was in poor condition when we took him in. He was very underweight and his fur was extremely matted. Though he has put on a lot of weight he is very food obsessed and wiill eat whatever is put in front of him. He is also extremely affectionate to nearly everyone. However Miss Chicken and him hate each other.

Before we took Georgy in we had a little kitten called Dexter aka World's Cutest Kitten, the Voodoo Kitten, the Beserker or Monkey Boy (his favourite toy was a monkey called Marion who he used to drag around the house). Sadly Dexter excaped from the house somehow and disappeared. We searched and searched for him but never found him. I still miss him. Hree is the missing flyer I posted around the neighbourhood for him
