I'll clarify my previous answer as well the one set down by God as found in the Christian Bible (possibly extending into the Catholic deuterocanon, but I am not certain of the nature of its inspiration).

I appreciate the clarification, but I would just point out that the moral standard exhibited by God in the Old Testament is quite different than that in the New Testament.

I will disagree with that

Christ represents a new covenant with God - and Christ, above all else, is love. The OT moral standard is a very bloody one. Seems different to me.

The OT God is a savage, murdering beast. He is jealous, vain and petty.

Jesus is far more advanced. He espouses some truly enlightened morals. Confucius and Buddha beat him by hundreds of years but better late than never. And one other thing: If you don't submit yourself to Jesus, you will be tortured in Hell for eternity.
