Do You Eat Breakfast?

Breakfast is important because it jump starts your metabolism for the day. Your metabolism slows considerably while you sleep, and if you don't eat something soon after waking up, it will remain slow throughout the day, and you will be more likely to put on excess fat.

Right, which is why I mentioned protein.

A hard-boiled egg is a great way to get that (I just cook up a batch once a week), plus some whole wheat toast or some whole grain cereal. It only takes 10 minutes in the mornings, and since I started that routine, I've started feeling a whole lot better until lunchtime. Works a hell of a lot better at keeping me going than coffee.
I'm a lazy piece of shit in the morning, so the best I ever manage is a protein shake. Still better than nothing, though.

Does half a chocolate cookie and a glass of rose count as breakfast ~ bearing in mine I do start at 10.30 (am)
But on a Sunday we ~ Man, Son and I do all sit down for a full on bacon, eggs, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, toast, marmite, etc... and then we all sit there ~ incapable of moving

Funny you should ask. Today's the day I made a commitment to start eating breakfast. Up until now, my first meal would be lunch because when I was younger, I had absoluteley no appetite in the morning. Then not eating became more of a habbit. I find that I can stand to eat something within an hour or two of getting up, even if it's a fruit or a smoothie.

I love my oatmeal.
Oatmeal, big frozen blueberries (yes, they need to be frozen) and milk.
Almost every day of the week.

Accompanied with kid eating breakfast and asking questions such as "doesn't the blueberries make you coooold?" and a little after "Mamma, does the blueberries turn your tounge blue?"

I just decided that is what I shall have for breaky :) It's morning here.

When I'm at home, I usually don't get up early enough to eat breakfast. And when I do, it's always for work, and I rarely eat anything breakfasty at work except for a muffin or banana.

Most of the time if I'm eating a huge breakfast it's because I'm having it with my parents or something. (I just spent three days in Boston, and so I suppose I could have eaten a decent breakfast if I'd wanted, but I just didn't feel like it. I wanted big lunches more than breakfasts anyway.)

I love breakfast.

Lately I've been eating muesli. It's like oatmeal you don't have to cook, but edible and with raisins, nuts, coconut, etc., already added for you. I eat it with yogurt and almond milk.

Toast is about the last thing I can eat in the morning. Too dry. And I'm not up to eating oatmeal first thing either, but when I made it around noon, I'd boil up some almond milk, cook the oats in it, then add almond butter and brown sugar. I like my oatmeal thicker than mashed potatoes and standing on its own. I never cook oatmeal in water.

I don't wake up early enough to have breakfast before work, but I have a stash of food in my desk that I usually eat as soon as I arrive.

Same here. I can't eat first thing in the morning, but if I don't eat breakfast I get really dizzy. So I keep a box of granola at my desk and some milk in the refrigerator at work and I eat when I get in.

Most mornings I just have Tea and Pop Tarts. On Saturday, when I visit my Mother, I usually have an omelet or pancakes. But when I'm on vacation or it's my birthday or something, I love a big breakfast: Fried eggs, bacon, hash browns, corned-beef hash, toast, orange juice-- the works.

A shot of Wild Turkey 101.

Actually I like a bowl of Total with almonds and blueberries...with Silk(Soy Milk)...with ruby red grapefruit juice to drink.

Now a days...usually nothing. :sigh:

I usually have a bowl of Life and a banana with coffee, but if I feel like doing the extra work I might make myself some cream of wheat and toast. I don't really like big breakfasts though.

I was at the grocery store the other day and some people just standing around made me have to take a detour through the cereal aisle, and as I did, I realized that I haven't eaten cereal in 3 years

Just coffee. That's generally also true for lunch, though sometimes I have a little snack at about 3. Eating in the morning makes me ill and sleepy, and always has.

I'm not too concerned about breakfast, not particularly hungry in the mornings - lunch is what I look froward to the most... if I'm up particularly early, I may have some fruit and cranberry juice, or occasionally cookies and tea.
