From some of the discussions on other message boards I got the impression that Avatar definitely isn't one of those films that only get better with age...
Some of the guys I know, who came back from the theatre "blown away", openly diss it nowadays.
One of my favourite comments from a while back said:

These ten years now look like an over-estimate, don't they? I, for one, liked the movie, but for some reason I really don't feel like re-watching, at all.

Avatar is a supermodel. Fucking hot now, yes. But ten years later when the looks are gone and her tits are round her knees, no-one's going to want to pay another visit.
