Do people with southern accents seem weird in oldTrek?

No you said the UK is on the doorstep of Europe, it isn't on the doorstep it's inside the door. It's part of Europe, It's not seperate from it when you talk of Europe it automatically includes the UK unless you are talking about continental Europe, Which covers just the mainland and excludes the various Islands such as Great Britain, Ireland, Malta etc..

Thanks for the geographical update. I do live in Europe, so I know our whereabouts here. But, thanks! I really had no idea how careful I would have to be with my words around here. Noted for future reference.
 
That's ok, and I do know sometimes the UK is considered outside of Europe or Brits might not feel as European say as a German, but in general how can people expect to feel included if they are talked about as being seperate.

Not saying you meant to imply that.
