Disruption - A message from John Harrison

ooooooooooooooh! I love his voice, it's almost identical to Sheer Khan's voice from Junglebook (no Khan pun intended).

So, I am wondering if this is actually in the film or just a special promo. The reason i am curious is because it would seem that Harrison is familiar with Kirk's future greatness, which would suggest he is familiar with the "timeline" shift.

Probably just a special promo.

Yeah, probably just a promo. It's too much of a coincidence that he pretty much mimics exactly what Pike said about Kirk making a mistake and getting his crew killed.

It is a spot on view of James Tiberius Kirk, though.

Looks familiar...

But still very cool.

The Trek promo is much less annoying though. I could see people of my parents' age muting it or changing the channel due to the noise. I've never understood the marketing strategy of "making lots of unnecessary noise to get peoples' attention so they watch our ad" when 9 times out of 10 its probably makes people that much less likely to want to use your product.

It sure sounds like someone with a highly superior intellect is doing a good job of analyzing one James T Kirk.

It's so Khan.

I think you're reading too much into Harrison's line that Kirk is "heir to legend." Unless he has access to Spock-Prime's debriefs (because surely they must be debriefs of Spock-Prime), then I think he's referring to Kirk as the heir to the legend of Archer, April, Marcus (presumably, based on Countdown to Darkness), and Pike. Probably the latter three. :)

Is there any evidence that Starfleet is even aware of future Spock?

Exactly, heir to the legend of the Enterprise and her commanding officers before Kirk.

I guess if the Naruda orr Jellyfish had survived, they'd have access to historical databases in the computer. So it depends on how much Spock has told them...and how much they believe. (I mean, here's this old Vulcan ranting about Kirk being some kind of super-hero!)

But if Spock had a tricorder or something with him, that contained historical records, maybe that would bolster his claims a bit.

And if "Harrison" was part of the upper echelons of Starfleet at one time...and was some kind of super-secret agent, he may be aware of the other timeline...

But I'm gonna guess that Prime Spock only told Starfleet what he felt was absolutely necessary, to protect the Federation from future threats - but he's probably kept a lot to himself, to prevent any further "damage" to the timeline.

He was at the ceremony where Kirk was promoted and later met Spock in what looks to be a Starfleet hangar. If they don't know about him they're letting a complete stranger wonder their facilities. :techman:

I wasn't sure if Cumberbatch could pull off Khan until I heard him say "Kirk". He just sounded dead on Ricardo Montalban in The Wrath of Khan.
