I figured out why Solo failed: it's the only movie in the franchise that neither features or references Obi-Wan Kenobi in any way. You know what you have to do, Lucasfilm.
That Obi-Wan movie was never even vaguely hinted at by Disney. It was fan speculation. Which is why I’m usually slightly amused when it pops up under ‘Breaking: Movie still as non-existent as ever.’ Its like anti-news.
That just says there's no Obi-Wan film. No Obi-Wan film does not mean the same thing as no more anthology films.
Breaking News: Click-bait websites are designed to bait web-users and make them click through the website.
Here's a concept: actors are generally not involved in early pre-production. So McGregor is hardly going to be in the know until or indeed *if* they're at the green lighting stage. Also, if they were at this point and they've signed him then there's such a thing as an NDA. Which means he can't and won't talk about it until Disney say so.
^^That's enough rational thought for the day. Now let's get back to panicking over the doom the Star Wars franchise faces. It's all over! Red Hour! Festival! FESTIVAL!!!
Well, it is leading. In that the title assumes the question ‘there’s the real possibility of an Obi-Wan movie.’ It’s also leading to bring it up in the context of ‘new information.’ Which sounds like splitting hairs, but context actually really matters when discussing leading. I swear to god, I’m not a ‘I’ll have no answer to your actual point, so I’ll just try to ‘debate’ fallacies instead’ obsessed redditor. It’s just leading questions are kinda frequent in my line of work, and I apparently have developed an annoying hang-up. Not that... I’d ever use them. Of course. You certainly won’t find any me-authored press releases on the internet containing them.
"Ewan McGregor Says No Obi-Wan Movie in the Works" I still don't know what is wrong with this title. It is clear and to the point.
It doesn’t have to be untrue, to be click-bait. It’s ‘bait’ because it nearly always guarantees you net loss for your clicking (for eg. information gained<time wasted.) Like a fish that bites on a baited hook. In this case ‘the Obi-Wan movie isn’t being worked on!’ When in fact, there’s no Obi-Wan movie in any capacity. Not even as spit in the milkman’s eye. So people have gained absolutely nothing from what they ‘spent’ in time/effort/lost opportunity/even a little bit of money on the click. The dishonest stuff just stands out more. Not in the least because it’s attempt at manipulation usually is more ongoing, and sets up future bait.
