The movie doesn't present it like that at all. Hell the camera keeps focusing on his wound! She was a rank amateur. He had a much better grip of the Force in any state. Well, actually no. Super Rey did![]()

Jesus christ, it's like talking to a brick wall. The camera focused on Kylo lying in the snow as Rey glares down triumphant.
Yep, that too.He was badly injured by a blast that would kill a lesser man and emotionally compromised, it wasn't a fair fight. He also wan't fully trained according to Snoke.
I'm getting a serious "La-la-la, can't hear you" vibe. Actually, it's been that way for some time.Did you even watch the movie?
It just translated unbelievable right from the start. Kylo reaching his hand out for the saber and barely getting it to quiver, then all of a sudden it goes flying into the air and Rey owns it! When he said you need a teacher, I wanted to laugh. Like hell she does. How many times does he punch himself in the leg?

Some of the best showdowns are when the villain or even the hero is reaching deep. The Force IS about reaching deep. Kylo should have been able to beat Rey who was a novice.He. Was. Off. His. Game.
She was focused very hard.
Why is that so hard to believe?
No. He was set up to be powerful but undisciplined. He was wounded, conflicted, and emotionally unstable. He still had training to complete, according to Snoke. Calling him a "mini Darth" is being far more generous and reading in to the material than even the film stated. He was set up in the movie to be like mini Darth. Did she even get a scratch? I think she worked up a little sweat in the snow.

If Kylo was at the top of his game, he absolutely would have been able to take her. He had a blaster bolt to the leg. A lightsaber slash to the arm. He was emotionally compromised after KILLING HIS FATHER. I don’t know about you, but one of those would be enough to mess me up.
I've seen athletes struggle with less, and not able to "pull from the deep."As I edited later:
The Force IS about reaching deep
Kylo's lack of completion of training still rather dominates Rey's complete and utter nothingness of training. She didn't just outright kick his arse physically she got the better of him with Force. Oh, and he knocks Rey out of the fight for a bit too.
I was going to respond to this earlier, but Kylo Ren is not a Sith.... and neither is Snoke.
She opened herself up to the Force and allowed it to "control her actions" as Obi-Wan would describe it.Kylo's lack of completion of training still rather dominates Rey's complete and utter nothingness of training. She didn't just outright kick his arse physically she got the better of him with Force. That is just stupid.
