Spoilers Discussion of BEYOND Enterprise

I like the fact that we have 3 JJprises in 3 films already. There is the ST09/STID Enterprise, the Beyond Enterprise-refit and now the totally new Enterprise-A. The more model/toy ships for my collection the better!

By the way has anyone made any orthos of the Enterprise-A? I've been searching for days and all I can find is this:

(And if it's one of yours guys, great work!:techman: Have done more views?)

I think they need to stretch the secondary hull a bit, so they can slide the supports back and the nacelles forward.

Yeah, the new design is a bit....squat. About my only complaint, really. If they slant the neck more and move the saucer forward a bit i think it'd be great.

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but how long you think the crew waited for the E-A at Yorktown while it was being constructed? It seems to be quite a bit of time...

My other beef is why they get the E-A? The original crew completed their 5 year mission intact, and saved Earth twice in the movies and dealt with Genesis project and Khan. This Kelvin timeline crew has far less heroics and lost their ship 2.5 years into their 5 yr mission. They should just get another ship and not E-A.

My head canon was that were so far out on the frontier that Starfllet decided it would be better to just have them crew the Ent-A instead of sending a crew out there. I figured since the ship was getting the same crew, the ship was named by the Yorktown folks as thanks for saving the star base from Krall.

Personally, I'd have preferred it if they had remained on the Franklin at the end of this one, and hadn't gotten the -A until the end of the next movie. (Franklin = BoP? ;) )
And for all that it's worth don't kill this one!
Nope, sorry. One Enterprise gets destroyed per movie from this point forward, until Kirk and crew are on the Enterprise-D. ;)

They accomplished quite a bit in their 2.5 years, though. Just in the movies, they rescued the remaining Vulcan refugees, saved Earth, stopped Nero, prevented war with the Klingons by stopping a renegade Starfleet admiral with a warship and a cryogenically frozen madman, as well as saved billions on board Yorktown (as well as any other Federation planets/outposts Krall may have targeted next).

What I'm curious to see would be how they changed the interior - and the bridge - will they finally tone down the 'Apple Store' look a bit - to something maybe looking a bit more 'warm' and TOS-esque? Although y'know this is something that sort of occurred to me - in many ways our own technology in 2016 is getting closer and closer to even this nuTrek in form and function. The use of more flat panels and HUDs and touch based controls - think about it - who would have thought even in the 80s that we'd have computers, TVs, DVD players, MP3 players, cell phones that had ZERO physical buttons other than MAYBE a power button - if that. Of course these aren't things running military starships - but no one thought we'd have computers able to fly space shuttles either back when TOS was invented or even TNG and yet - here we are with computerized probes on 'alien' worlds sending us back photos.

BUT I'm looking at more the general design aesthetic - like remember for a while there all kinds of stuff was like 'candy' colored - like the original iMacs? Everyone was into that look. Then everything went chrome. And it's kinda stayed there for a bit - but then I've seen things getting faux leather finishes and wood again - so maybe will we see more "organic" textures on the new ship?.

I am hoping for a change from the white walls n black floors

Want to see more of Kirk Spock qtrs

And a less cluttered bridge. Not bare but just a touch less busy & have Spock's station more easily viewed on shots from view screen in

Agreed.
Clearly Ryan Church never watched TOS in depth or fully grasped the dramatic effect of the coziness of the original bridge. That little area next to the Captain`s chair had a lot of great moments happen within it. However when you have a 14 people standing around, some of them standing directly behind you like they are taking reservations for your favorite restaurant, it completely destroys any possibility of truly intimate or dramatic moments between the principal characters. I loved all of the buttons and panels on the new bridge though. Although everything seems to be blue.

7`s company, 14 is a crowd.

See, I love the new Bridge design. Had a very command deck feel to it.

It was good to see a tiny glimpse of Kirks, even if it was just wear he hangs his uniforms (liked the way that was played with his expression along with his log) and while I would have liked to have seen how they had crew quarters set up on this ship the fact we saw other areas such as a science storage archive, a crew lounge/mess, an armoury and the manual saucer separation "room" (for a lack of another word) was great. Hopefully they will include a proper look round Kirk or Spock's room in the next one.

As for toning down the Enterprise bridge I actually think they shot it much better in Beyond than in the previous films; it could have been down to some of the changes to details or the general lighting but it looked far less a harsh bright white in the few scenes we see of it. I'm hoping they retain some of the queues of their original bridge along with drawing on inspiration from TOS and the ST 5/6 Bridges with the new ship.

Agreed the lighting was better in Beyond but feel bridge is just a tad cluttered

Feel Lin would get new interior n bridge correct w a new ship but gut tells me JJ will go back to another I bridge

Hope I'm wrong
