It looks like Discovery Channel's Freeview channel has appeared. At the minute it's just a placeholder saying New Channel Coming Soon, but I thought I'd give people the heads up, you might want to retune your STB. It's on channel 47.

Ooh! What will it carry? If Freeview picks up the discovery/ discovery knowledge constant running of Time Team I could lose the Sky!

By the sounds of it it could be a Freeview barker for Discovery, showing repeats of shows from across their channels, much like Sky Three was supposed to be, before it turned to crap.

Discovery, Discovery Knowledge and Discovery Real Time all carry at least one Old Time Team per day. As a result of which I am now word perfect in seasons '94-'99. If Quest also put out one per day, that might be my cue to drop out of the Sky, as it were.

Isn't there a lot of repeats on More 4? Or was that just over christmas?

Um, whatchya guys talking about?
Discovery Networks in the UK are launching a free to air channel on Digital Terrestrial TV (freeview), they're calling it Quest.

Yes, More 4 repeats Time Team three or four at a time. They still own all the episodes from 2000 onwards. The earlier ones were sold to Discovery. But I needs me a daily fix. ;)

(I have most of the post 2000 ones recorded)

Looks like there's finally a launch date

Coming to Freeview
on May 14th 2009

Quest is a new TV channel where actions speak louder than words. Building, exploring, solving crimes and living dangerously, get to the heart of the action with the finest factual, lifestyle and entertainment programming. Link

There's also a video on the site, sorry to say, RevdKathy, I couldn't spot any Time Team on that video.

They have a new launch date for Quest, September 30th. Wonder if it'll actually start this time?
