So, let's see. What do we have here in terms of actual information about what the show will try to do next season?
And... that's it. Not a word about the three actual story teasers we'd previously been given, (A) the Enterprise and its crew, (B) "science vs. faith," or (C) Section 31.

"We get much deeper into character exploration this year..."
Okay, that sounds good. Couldn't get much shallower..."It also gave us an opportunity to lay in some easter eggs and we feel very, very, very strongly about making sure that we fit into canon, making sure that there are not any loose ends that may be the story that is being told right now, but we are going to fit into that timeline. A lot of consideration has been put into it."
This is basically word salad that tells us nothing. If they really think fans love random easter eggs, and that they've avoided loose ends so far, they're in a dream world. How about an example or two of a continuity conflict that arose in the process of breaking the story, and how they went about resolving it? That would be interesting."We know there are still people that have not been represented yet on our show and it will be our goal to make sure we get everybody in there that we can. ... It is our responsibility to make sure that wherever you are on this planet and whatever background you come from, you turn on the show you are going to see yourself."
This is literally impossible. Intersectionality is a nifty concept, but the show (and its cast) can't be all things to all people.And... that's it. Not a word about the three actual story teasers we'd previously been given, (A) the Enterprise and its crew, (B) "science vs. faith," or (C) Section 31.
In all fairness, only the first and third of those can be pinned on Fuller. The second and (apparently) the fourth were devised after he moved on. And the third one is not particularly a bad idea (indeed, "Lethe," delving into Michael's background, was arguably one of the best episodes of the season). As for the Klingon War, I'd agree that it was a misbegotten idea and (in particular) that Fuller's re-imagining of the Klingons was not an improvement on, well, anything... but given that the war storyline was preordained, it certainly could have been executed much better than it was.Fuller's idea was not that good. Plain-and-simple..it's pretty much the truth.

Damn, and here I was willing to give you credit for being clever! You know I didn’t think that far ahead when I used the picture - I literally got as far as “execute” and thought no more about it! I’m not suggesting that DSC will sputter out dead in space...

Or even if not told about the MU per se... at least, in the wake of what Starfleet learned about the Lorca switcheroo, future Starfleet captains (and engineers) should be given Very Strong Warnings about not using the transporters during ion storms!...I can’t be privy to the rationale behind all the decisions that a fictional organization makes. I can only use logic as a basis for what I see in any particular situation. And logic tells me that Kirk should have been told about the MU by his superiors.
