News Discovery renewed, Picard and Strange New Worlds premiere dates

It's a glorious time to be a Trekkie!

couldn't have said it better.

now that some attention has started to come Paramount's way, with the nomination for Short Treks, I hope the actors of these shows get some looks for Emmy awards too. Mount definitely deserved one for S2 Discovery. as did Yeoh for Terra Firma last year. The acting on all of these shows, live and voice has been top shelf, and it would be good for them to get some credit.

2 Prodigy
3 Strange New Worlds
4 Discovery
5 Picard

Short Treks would be up there if they make more.

Wait.. how many episodes are left for Discovery? I doubt they’d overlap with Picard…

When they get all the shows running, even if they only have 10 episodes each of all four other shows, with the twenty episode Prodigy seasons the shows will eventually have to overlap for several weeks.

I just don't get into Prodigy because it's not for me, it's cute but doesn't have much adult crossover appeal.

1)Next Season of Lower Decks, because it's my favourite and I like the characters
2)Strange New Worlds, because I'm curious about how that show will work

That's it, I don't personally enjoy the rest. I'm glad for people who do, but I don't.

These streaming Star Treks are funded by subscriptions instead of adverts, so showing two new overlapping series at once is a massive waste of money for them if they've already got Trek fans to subscribe for one series.

Nah, it’s a marketing opportunity. “Hey new subscriber, why don’t you catch the premiere of Picard and then did you know the Discovery finale is here in two weeks? Time for you to catch up on DSC!”

Yeah, it was nominated for the Emmy for Outstanding Short Form Comedy Or Drama Series in 2020. Picard won the Emmy for Makeup that year, but sadly Short Treks lost to Better Call Saul: Ethics Training with Kim Wexler.

For the record, I'm excited for all of it.

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but does anyone know where/if SNW will be streaming in the UK? As far as I know there is no sign of Paramount Plus and I don’t think Amazon has it like they do Picard. Pluto is impossible to remember to watch Disco on so I’m now very behind on that.

No announcement as of yet aside from general announcements of plans to expand Paramount+ in to Europe.

That’s what I feared. I can live without Disco (or at least wait until I can access it easily) but I’m really excited for SNW. At least I get Picard and Lower Decks.
