as I am sure most of us agree, the “Menagerie” two parter was among the best Trek episodes. A great framing story that made use of the pilot in a clever way. I watched the two parter again, and after 40 years and loads of viewings, the emotional weight was even better now that I care more about Captain Pike. This seasons writing and Anson Mount have made me care about Pike. Regardless of my overall opinion on Disco, this development was interesting and a positive.
Discovery made me appreciate the Menagerie even more

"The Menagerie" was always one of my "go to" episodes when I was young.
Haven't seen it now in about 5 years, and that was after a long holiday away from watching Star Trek.
A great piece of writing, editing etc.
Even an unusual ending with Kirk in his meeting room watching Pike reunite with Vina on Talos, while the titles started to roll.
Fantastic.
