Discovered Gilmore Girls

Although, to be fair, most birth control including condoms are not 100% fool proof. ;)

There is a shot a woman can get that is as close to 100% as possible. There are pills and condoms. No one thing is 100% but at least two two type should be used at all times.

I got snipped, and my wife had a hysterectomy. I guess that's about as 100% as you can get!

As for Rory, I like to think that the next line of the show would have been her saying, "Just kidding!" and then fading to black.

The final four words make more sense if they had been uttered as originally intended at the end of the series, when Rory is still relatively young. She'd be 21 or 22, just out of college, and now with a baby, while not exactly the same, it would have been close to Lorelai's story. Now, in her early 30s, it's "Ok, you're going to have a baby. And?" My wife had our daughter when she was 32. That's pretty normal. True, the father in her life would be better, but it isn't exactly abnormal these days.

They make sense now too, even at 32. She needed a re-set. She needed a grounding, back-to-basics, and to rediscover herself. Because obviously, the whole "freelance journalist" thing wasn't working out, and floating around like a leaf only works for awhile. She was getting frustrated. She was doing stupid stuff, and she wasn't happy. She needed a reality check.

Being a writer and raising her baby in Stars Hollow is a perfect way to discover that there are other ways for her to be happy in life than chasing frantically after scraps in order to have a "career" that's ultimately wrong for her, and sleeping with a man who has no intention of actually committing to her.

And it just might inspire her to remember how to be a better person, for her sake and the child's sake.

The symmetry also works better. She's the same age Lorelei was at the start of the show. One of the main themes of the series was age and/or maturity doesn't automatically discharge one from mistakes or lapses of judgment and that that's okay.
