Spoilers Differences Between "The Cage" and Discovery (Minor "Desperate Hours" Spoilers)

I'm still going with the idea that Starfleet has a protocol for changing uniform designs and colors around every 5 to 10 years to assist potential time travelers to know which decade they wind up in. This could easily account for colors changing, to then change back a few years later, as they wanted to be able to use quite a few different combinations, and we can also figure that fashion trends change in the Star Trek time frame.

Didn't know where else to post or ask this, and this was the closest I could find.

I heard a rumor that TOS is "fictional holostories" in the DIS universe, and that the proof is in this photo.

I'm not sure where the photo originated from. I found the link on reddit.

Can you be a little more specific? I've never read the Vanguard books and don't know what you are referring to.

The clothing thing. He spends way, way too much time detailing just what uniform they are wearing. He uses this same thing in it, "Oh these guys now have to ware miniskirts, because that ship had not had them yet" and so he spends ages talking about how each female character looks in her mini skirt and which ones go non-regulation and wear some practical pants.

Guys, Starfleet uses the Blue uniforms. Its not a big deal, a novel does not need to spend paragraphs explaining what the uniform on the cover looks like or trying to fix a non issue because some folks can't grasp the visual style change.

Pike and the gang actually were wearing the DIS uniforms during the Talos IV incident. Those early 60s TV cameras tended to be a little screwy and play tricks on the eyes at times...
:vulcan:
You might not be too far off there

The collar of the woman's tops is mimicked by the shape of he DISCO uniform collar.
I wonder if the designers were influenced by the Cage?

Finally! A novel that I can really enjoy.

Read the Vangaurd ones. I liked them for the most part, but he spent way, way, way to much time on uniforms. And pointing out how each woman looked in them. And pointing out which ones went non-regulation. I mean really, whats the point of pointing that out?

He also had a kinky cross species lesbian thing going on.

Since this show takes place about a decade before TOS, whoever wrote those books must be a time traveller.

It’s called an ‘Easter egg’

I’ve read a lot of the books but I never noticed.
