Did you not know Star Trek until Elite Force?

^ I haven't.... but I have the special "Anniversary" edition on CD-Rom with the recorded dialog. I haven't played it in a while, and it probably won't play on my current computer, unless I mess around with DosBox or something like that.

lol, "Elite Force". Good old times. I modded for that game ("In2tagib", "Gladiator Arena", "PiNBALL", "Q32EF") and did Q3A maps conversions:

There are still servers online, but unfortunatly not many players left:

I wish they could release the multiplayer portion officially as free download. The gameplay of MP is still ace (no wonder: EF is a total conversion of Q3A and is pretty much 90% Q3A with a Star Trek skin).

What ever happened with EFII? Does anybody play that online?

I remember it was basically a flop... I never got around to buying it myself.

I have watched since TOS. I have seen, but have no idea what Elite Force is about. Never been much into video games.

I was a Star Trek fan before Elite Force came out. But I was about 17/18 when the game released, and I did enjoy it a lot. Great fun. I devoured anything with 'Star Trek' on the box. I also still have Klingon Honor Guard but haven't played it in years.

Elite Force was developed by Raven Software who also made the excellent Star Wars Jedi Knight games. Star Wars seems to have fared better in the gaming department than Trek (the universe is more suitable for warfare than Trek). But there have been some good Trek games over the years. The new Star Trek game for the PS3, based on the JJ universe, isn't that great, though

apparently using the Quake III Arena engine. (You couldn't tell that on the PS2 version though, despite stating that it too ran on the QIIIA engine).
You played the inferior port. The PC version was magnificent.

The roundest-est surfaces and door arches you'd ever seen. ;)

I only watched Voyager after playing Elite Force. How crushed I was to discover no Telsia... ;)

(Chell IS in the TV show, though.)

I have many fond memories of staying up all night playing CTF while people talked about the latest episodes. Elite Force was the first game that scared the bejeesus out of me -- I remember shooting a Borg, running behind a corner, then peeking around a few minutes later to see them shuffling toward me, already adapted to the phasers.

^ In the single-player game, one particular scene with Telsia took on a bit of a... different implication if you were playing the female main character.
