Spoilers did we see a Rebels character?

Morpheus 02

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
Was that purple haired Vice Admiral (played by Laura Deen) supposed to be Sabine Wren? I just caught the latest episode of Rebels (missed most of the season) and saw she was a general.

She seems to be about the right age for that role.

And the the way the vice admit said "rebels" in one scene made it sure seem like a tie in.

I know she has a different name in The movie, but still....

No, but the visual dictionary indicated that she had been with the Rebel Alliance "since the start of the Galactic Civil War." Also, it states Leia and Holdo knew each other as teens. We may potentially see her character (or referenced) in the final half(ish) of Rebels season 4 since those timelines add up.

The novel Leia Princess of Alderaan set a few years prior to ANH features a teenaged Holdo and tells the story of how and when she and Leia first met. She most certainly is not Sabine. Holdo's lack of Asian features and Mandalorian armour should have given that away regardless.

Also, a considerable effort is being expended to prevent the fates of any of the Rebels characters known at this point. We know Hera and Chopper will still be around as far as Endor, but everyone else's fate is being kept under wraps until the finale, and I don't see why they would suddenly decide to just drop in the fact Sabine will survive.

Besides, Sabine would have dropped Poe's ignorant mutinous ass the second he pointed a gun at her.

Vice-Admiral Amilyn Holdo was created specifically for The Last Jedi, but was actually introduced into the Canon, as noted, via the novel Leia: Princess of Alderaan.
