Good lord no. In fact, I think it tends to be the thing that seals people's images of me as a nerd.
That being said, I have a lot of other sides to my personality and I definitely don't go around talking about Star Trek so much that people know right off the bat. But if they know me well enough, they'll know I'm a fan, and honestly I don't think they'd be surprised.

People are normally shocked. But it's not exactly something I advertise.

From time to time it has surprised people, though whether it is the fact they think it is surprising that all would like the show or that Star Trek has fans I don't know. However, Trek rarely comes up in my day to day conversations. Only reason I might mention it is when I talk about upcoming movies I plan to see this year.
I'm now going to tell people I'm a Trekkie so they think I'm more intelligent (geek). S'pose it's like sexuality preference, you don't have to tell them, but if you do there's a danger of being filed away in a draw...
I think having blonde hair and big tits is worse for peoples' reactions...

It doesn't come up very often, but when it does, oh, yeah - I almost always surprise people. A lot, apparently. I guess I seem "too normal"? I'd better do something about that! 
But I don't really care if anybody thinks it's cool or not - and as a general rule, they don't. If they want to put me in some category, so be it. Just for fun, I recently moved one Trek item (a Romulan Warbird Christmas ornament - I didn't have a good place for it at home) to my office - so far, nobody's noticed it, but I'm very curious to see their reactions when they finally do.

In my case, it's the complete opposite...
Whenever I drop a hint that I like horror movies (and I'm talking about HORROR movies, not the teenie Twilight stuff), people look like they want to lock me up like Hannibal Lecter...
(Well, on the other hand, I met a couple of interesting girls that way back in the days... I'm married with one of them now.)
We're all old enough to remember when TNG at least was new and a bit more mainstream.
For the most part I am a closet fan. I did not even tell my family that when I went to Vegas last year it was for a ST convention. From those that do find out I get that look. You know. The quizzical look of "I thought Star Trek fans all acted like those people in the move Trekkies."
