Did McCoy also graduate in 3 years?

McCoy is also supposed to be 7-10 years older than Kirk, so I would think that his previous medical practise and work experience would earn him some credit.

Quoting from an article which was linked here back in 2007:

However, he says while not ruling out a fourth film for the [Bourne] franchise, it's about as likely as industry rumours that he will play a young Captain Kirk in a new Star Trek film being true.

"I actually finally called JJ Abrams, who's directing (the new Star Trek film) and said 'Dude, what going on?' He's like, 'You're way too ... old, you're like 15 years too old to play Captain Kirk in this movie."

Much later on, there was another article saying that Damon had been approached for the role of George Kirk.

Didn't Bones, Kirk, and Uhura enter Starfleet Academy at the same time? They all got to where the wanted in three years.

Kirk boasted that he would complete the Academy in three years. It seems that McCoy also completed the Academy in 3 years. We see him on the shuttle as a new recruit in Trek09 and he also goes on the mission to Vulcan where he is promoted to Chief Medical officer.

They all did. ;P

Uhura was already a cadet, hence the uniform in the bar scene. Probably a first year or second year cadet.
Pike tells Kirk:
Riverside shipyard. Shuttle for new recruits leaves tomorrow - 08:00.
What I took from that was they were all new recuits (if Hendorff was on that ship, he too would have graduated in three years) and your simply assigned a uniform before shipping out.

I took that to mean the new recruits from that area (McCoy, Kirk and whoever) needed to be on the shuttle. Uhura, Hendorff and the rest are just cadets visiting the shipyard. They seemed pretty chummy and insular (Cupcake calls Kirk a townie) for a group of people who just met. They're also very "snap to it" when Pike shows up, which to me indicates some training and discipline.,

according to the star trek app that was released and the bios on those apps, Bones, Carol, Uhura, Kirk, Chekov and Sulu all graduated in 2258. Spock and Scotty were all commissioned officers.

I know in the Royal Navy Officer Cadets start of with the ranks of either midshipman (USN ensign) or sub lieutenant (USN lieutenant junior grade) and sometimes lieutenant, however I think that is only for surgeons.

Does it say when they started Starfleet?

That's what I figured. They were all cadets on shore leave, or something.
