I've only watched bits and pieces of it as my parents watched it. I think that the La La Land cast and crew should get something, at least some sort of consolation prize for having to go through that embarrassment.
Ahh yeah, good point. See, didn't watch it all the way through and hadn't realized it won so many. They did take it very gracefully, so there's that.
Snakes on a Plane by Christa Faust. Okay, I've never actually read this one, but I remain sincerely awestruck by the fact that she got over 350 pages out of Snakes on a Plane.
Fantastic Voyage by Isaac Asimov, which many people don't even realize was a novelization.

That amazes me.... I've seen the movie several times and while fun, I'd have to wonder how you got a novel that big out of that. Unless there's a huge lot of stuff the film didn't include.
What does that even mean?nstead they reward talky political movies

Nah, it was a simple error. No need to give awards for being mistaken for someone else.I've only watched bits and pieces of it as my parents watched it. Actually La La Land was a fun movie. Did they have a prize for a musical?
While the Golden Globes gets two annual best films: one for drama, the second for musical or comedy. Naturally, THE MARTIAN won the second category hands down

No, of course not. It's about the process and out of respect for those that got caught in the middle of it. I don't think it would have been such an issue if one or two people went on stage to accept the award, but they had the whole cast and crew up there and already into their acceptance speeches. As I said though, they took it well.No.........1st world problem. I'm sure they won't suffer PTSD.
