Did anyone like the bald Romulans?

Only makeup/tattooing, actually. (A behind-the-scenes photo of Scottie Thompson, who played Nero's wife, in full costume and makeup.)
Looks like they drew her tats with a marker pen. But given that we'd only see her for a scant moment in a distorted flashback/dream sequence, it's unlikely that they'd bother with the expense of fitting her with the raised brow ridges that Bana and Collins (Ayel) wore.

sigh... I have no idea how you can deny interviews and behind the scene photos, but there it is. Clearly, there's no arguing with you.

What's there to argue? Look at Nero and Ayel. They are neither the completely smooth-faced Romulans of TOS nor the extremly ridged-headed Romulans of TNG. They have slightly raised brow ridges under those tats.

Sorry, but onscreen close-ups of Nero and Ayel trumps a behind-the-scenes photo of an extra with hand-drawn makeup who wasn't going to have a clear close-up shot in the movie.

^^^
You're joking right? Because the raised brow ridges are indeed there in the movie. But if it makes you happy to pretend they're not there, go knock yerself out.

There's a god damn picture of them in makeup right there on my post - how is that debatable at all?

Instead of hanging onto a low-resolution wallpaper made by a fan, why not go look at the movie again and really look at Nero?

Nero and Ayel did have forehead appliances (there's video of Bana being made up on the DVD extras) but I wouldn't say they've got TNG-style ridges at all.

Nice recant!

I do believe I said from the start that these Romulans did not have the pronounced forehead ridges of the ones from TNG, but had something more subtle.

Whoa - that's not a recant - they obviously had upswept brows and most actors nowadays wouldn't do the shaving/hair gluing. I was referring to the big weird nasal cavity things coming from the bridge of the nose and running up the forehead.

And I was talking about the Romulans in Star Trek XI still having some sort of brow feature on their faces that set them apart from Vulcans. You argued against that.

Then I think we were arguing about different things. I was under the impression that you were insisting they still had minor ridges in the middle of their foreheads.

Nope. And I hate to quote myself, but...
C.E. Evans said:
Nero and his crew do have more raised brow ridges underneath their tats. They're not as pronounced as the forehead ridges the Romulans from TNG onwards have, but they're there all right.
