Destiny - question regarding Deanna (Spoilers)

David, is there some reason why Deanna didn't suddenly sense that Titan had left and gone back to the Federation? I would think as an empath she would have sensed the sudden disappearance of so many people including (and maybe especially) her husband. I'm only about 1/3 of the way through Lost Souls and my question may yet be answered but I'm curious anyway.

I was left with the impression that the Caeliar shield technology also blocked the special bond Deanna and Riker share.

Wasn't she in a great deal of pain at the time, potentially clouding her telepathic abilities? And then she was "sedated."

The quick answer is that she was impaired by physical pain; also, keep in mind that at the moment when the Titan and its crew departed, she was unconscious.
