The latest issue of Star Trek Magazine (14) is about to hit newsstands in the States (and will be out in the UK early November). Of particular interest is an extract from the final Star Trek Destiny novel, which chronicles a fateful meeting between Captains Picard, Riker, Dax and... well, at this stage, that would be telling too much. The main focus of the issue is on the Romulans, with a great piece by Michael A. Martin charting their history (incorporating their appearances in TrekLit), and a character study of Sela by Bob Greenberger, who also pens this issue's Eye of the Beholder opinion column. There's also an eye opening interview with new Captain Kirk, Chris Pine, and the original Romulan Commander herself, Joanne Linville. Not only that, there's an incredibly insightful article about Captain Kirk not being the maverick he's been made out to be! Add in free copies of the posters from ComicCon and it's a fun pack!
On a more serious note, the issue is dedicated to the memory of "Last Lecture" writer Randy Pausch, and a member of the TrekLit family, Robbie Greenberger. Because of the multiple territories the mag goes on sale, I didn't include a last para for my editorial, encouraging anyone to register with their local Bone Marrow donor register, but please take this as that extra bit!
