Alright here, to compensate let's take a different track -- we're about to see the unveiling of a NEW ENTERPRISE! This may only happen a handful of times, in a LIFETIME! My inner child is squealing with geek glee.
What's everyone's first/best memory of a new enterprise reveal?my first was in 87, when the Big D first rolled onscreen during Encounter At Farpoint. Holy cow! I remember thinking there's NO WAY that's the Enterprise, she's just so... big and different! So graceful and organic! Man, that blew my little mind. Couldn't wait to get the die-cast toy (remember the one with the saucer sep, but the saucer was too heavy and would fall off? Man, the captain would call 'abandon ship' after like 5 minutes of play!)
Next I'd like to say the Ent-E, but I was really surprised when she showed onscreen, I guess I'd forgotten the D was gone. Course, that movie also had the Star Wars Special Edition trailer, and Geordi's new eyes, so I can be forgiven for missing that one. I cheered like crazy along with everyone else though!
The biggest 'baited breath' scenario, of course, was the JjPrise. Man, that was a HYOOJ reveal. Love her or hate her, you can't deny there was some sweet, sweet anticipation on that lady.

I remember racing out to my local grocery store to buy the issue of TV Guide that was unveiling the design of the NX-01 Enterprise.
As I recall, the shot of the NX-01 was from above, and (like every other Trek fan on the planet) my first impression was that it looked strikingly similar to the Akira class.
