Depp turned down Freddie Mercury biopic?

Pingfah, walk away. You won't win. You know the expression about fighting the ignorant: they drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Good advice Australis, I believe I will take it

They don't remember the incorrect information that WAS spread on the news, because, truly, people didn't KNOW how it was spread...touch? Air? Fluid? No one was really sure.

20 years of hindsight can be pretty good.

I recall yes, public information films assuring everyone that you can't get it from toilet seats and the like. I also remember that everyone was quite scared of it, the erroneous public perception that it was purely a "gay disease" hadn't even come to the fore yet.

Freddie Mercury's deterioration definitely started almost right after the Magic Tour in '86, I remember thinking that something looked not quite right when he did Barcelona, and that was only in '88. By the time the next Queen album was out it was obvious.

Heh, Stormrage must really hate or disagree with the Queen "Made in Heaven" album.

Whatever the rumor is, to be frank I can't really see Depp as Freddy Mercury...it just doesn't really fit, though he did make a great HST. :rommie:

Seriously though, who really cares what that homophobic berk thinks? Only a bigot of epic proportions would use a thread like this as an opportunity to bash gays, and promote his dark age religous views. All he's proven is what an ill-informed twonk he actually is.

Keep up! This thread has absolutely nothing to do with Johnny Depp anymore.

I believe the current topic is whether or not God can sing as well as Freddie Mercury.

Which he can't.

Plus, God is not nearly the showman - he's a much more behind-the-scenes sort of guy, and couldn't possibly look as good in tights and leathers.

If God was HALF the showman Freddie Mercury was, this world would be an entirely different sort of place - that's for DAMN sure.
